Elle's annual Women in Hollywood event is held each year to honor the most influential and barrier-breaking women in the industry. This year, in particular, celebs like Alessandra Ambrosio, Reese Witherspoon, Margot Robbie, and Vanessa Hudgens attended the event in Los Angeles.
Even though there's much, much more to it than hair and makeup, we can't help but notice all of the inspiring beauty looks from our favorite celebs. After all, it's an event that rests on the laurels of confidence, strength, and influence, which are all things that can be affected by and portrayed through beauty.
(Don't believe us? Just look to the power coifs of U.S. first ladies. Or see how Harvard researchers say wearing a specific kind of makeup can increase your chances of promotion). One celeb stood out in particular: Yara Shahidi. The Black-ish star walked the red carpet with fresh skin, perfect brows, and the prettiest inner-eye highlight.

Shahidi seems to be taking a page out of Gigi Hadid's book with this gorgeous icy white inner-eye strobe. Luckily, we know exactly which product was used to achieve it. It was all thanks to the frosty white shade in Chanel's Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad in Tisse Jazz 244 ($61), which her makeup artist Emily Cheng applied along her bottom lash line and into the inner corner of her eye. We think it makes her lashes and eye color pop, which is why we'll be trying it out for ourselves.
By the way, this palette is a favorite of makeup artists everywhere. It comes in 17 different color combinations, and each one houses four baked shadows. In this Tisse Jazz palette, in particular, the other three shadows are navy blue, turquoise blue, and black, so there are myriad different looks that can be created with it. And, honestly, we get a serious Studio 54 vibe from it (in the best way).
As for the rest of her makeup, Cheng applied Koh Gen Doh's Maifanshi Foundation in 301 ($66) and Nars's Radiant Cream Concealer ($30) to Shahidi's skin. Finally, she perfected the look with a brown nude lip that came courtesy of Bite Beauty's Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Cognac ($24), which has a super-creamy and non-drying lip formula.
Inner-eye strobing has been super trendy as of late, with a variety of celebrities wearing the look in muted neutrals (like Shahidi's snowy shade) as well as bright pops of pastel. One of our all-time favorites is Shay Mitchell's iridescent lilac inner-eye strobe that she recently wore.
