As beauty editors, we’ve tried hundreds of products; some with farm-to-face labels (this industry loves a good buzzword), and others that promise to hydrate and fix whatever crazy skin concern you might have. But when a product lands on our desk that actually lives up to its claims—wild or not—well… It’s worth noting.
Such is the case with Weleda’s new Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream ($19), not that we expected anything else. The brand has been around for over 90 years, people, and one of the first wellness skincare lines, and its mission is one everyone can support: Life’s best fixes come from plant-rich ingredients, and when we nurture ourselves, our beauty shines through. And trust us, if your skin needs some fixin’, this is for you...
What It Is
This is a lighter, faster-absorbing version of Weleda’s classic best-selling Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream ($19). But don’t worry—even though it’s a newer formula, it’s still made with the same skin-soothing ingredients as originally launched.
Why I Need to Have It?
For starters, it’s rare to find a cream you can use on both your face and body without making your skin freak out. That’s all thanks to the good-for-skin ingredients, like sunflower seed oil, beeswax, and shea butter, which makes the texture velvety smooth and creamy—but not greasy. It absorbs almost instantly and feels super lightweight.
It’s the perfect cream to use year-round if you like lighter moisturizers, or if you have oily or combination skin. Bonus: It’s infused with an herbal blend of chamomile, calendula, and pansy, which is basically the most calming combination ever.
