One of the most powerful beauty products in anyone's arsenal is a good mascara. This is especially true for those of us who weren't born with long, fluffy lashes, but love the way you can transform your entire makeup look in a few simple swipes.
As someone who has tried her fair share of mascaras (and false eyelashes), I have pretty high standards. So when I came across W3ll People's Expressionist Pro Mascara, I was intrigued. The product claims to deliver longer, fuller, well-defined lashes and a flake-free, long-wearing finish. Plus, the formula is vegan, cruelty-free, and Byrdie Clean. Is it worth a spot in your mascara rotation? Keep reading to find out.

About My Lashes: Short and straight
For most of my life, I've fought with short, straight lashes that refuse to remain raised. To that end, I am a massive fan of false eyelashes. I like the dazzling effect that falsies can create and how they assist in defining and opening my eyes. Nonetheless, as much as I wish I could wear falsies every day, it is not a part of my regimen. As such, I've experimented with mascaras ranging from drugstore to high-end in search of ones that can keep my lashes elevated for more than an hour. I've found a handful that work, but they're not sensitive enough or affordable enough to use on a daily basis.
How to Apply: With a steady hand and multiple coats
I began with my eyelash curler, pressing it for a few seconds on my lashes before grabbing the mascara. The wand of W3ll People's Expressionist Pro Mascara is lovely. It has distinct bristles to guarantee that the product will reach every lash. It is critical to apply the mascara with a steady hand since it has a tendency to smear over your lash line if you apply it too quickly. I used three coats on each eye to get a more elevated and dramatic appearance. Using just one or two coats results in a very natural effect.
The Results: Lifted lashes that last
I used W3ll People's Expressionist Pro Mascara on a daily basis for a few weeks, and all I can say is wow. I just used one layer the first time I used this product, and it provided a modest lift and lightweight feeling. It didn't smudge and was easy to remove. After that, I gradually increased the number of coatings, and my lashes remained raised all day. I like how every lash is elevated, and there is no clumping. I chose the shade "Pro Black," which is very pigmented and maintains its brilliance throughout the day.
The Value: A must-have
W3ll People's Expressionist Pro Mascara costs $20, which is more than most drugstore mascaras but far less than higher-end products. Nonetheless, the product's quality and design make it worth every cent. This mascara accomplishes all it claims to do: It's long-lasting (check), it lengthens (check), and it defines (check). My favorite aspect is that it appears like you're using mascara but doesn't feel like it. Regardless of how many coats I apply, the formula is light enough for my sensitive eyes.
Furthermore, the packaging is quite exquisite and rich. This mascara efficiently separates lashes and may be applied alone for a natural look or layered for a dramatic look. W3ll People's Expressionist Pro Mascara has quickly become my daily go-to mascara.

Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer: A double-sided mascara and lash prep that works together to create maximum length and volume, Honest Beauty's Extreme Length Mascara and Lash Primer ($17) is formulated with jojoba esters, which are said to give it a long-lasting lift and great length.
Burt's Bees Nourishing Mascara: Burt's Bees' Nourishing Mascara ($13) quickly lengthens and defines lashes. The key ingredients include jojoba oil and glycerin. It has a lovely brush; however, the formula might create clumping compared to W3ll People's Expressionist Pro Mascara, which is clump-free.
W3ll People's Expressionist Pro Mascara exceeded my expectations. It isn't easy finding a lovely mascara that has good ingredients and performs well. The wand is my favorite part of this product—it swept through my lashes, separating and covering them. This mascara subtly provided natural-looking length and volume. If you're seeking a mascara with beneficial ingredients that lifts your lashes, I suggest this one.
