In 1996 when we were all picking which Spice Girl we wanted to be during recess, my answer was always the same: Posh. Fast forward to 2021, and a sleek, middle-part bob and closet full of LBDs are still on my style vision board. I’ve also racked up on countless lippies in my lifetime trying to get a Posh-worthy pout, so imagine my inner six-year-old self’s sheer joy when I found out that Victoria Beckham Beauty was launching its first-ever lipstick line named after my favorite Spice of them all.

About the brand: Posh is a part of Victoria Beckham Beauty, which Beckham launched in 2019.
"Lipstick is more than just makeup to me...It’s a moment for myself. So when I developed Posh, I wanted it to be a reflection of my personal memories and journey to the woman I am today," VBB co-founder and creative director, Victoria Beckham, told Byrdie exclusively. "The collection of nine nudes, pinks, berries, and a red are the modern lip wardrobe everyone needs. Each shade has personality, ranging from a confident pop of red to my signature, everyday nude lip."
VBB’s clean beauty standard isn’t compromised when it comes to the luxe look and feel of these lippies. The all-vegan formula contains superfoods and plant-based extracts because as co-founder and CEO Sarah Creal put it, "Some of your lipstick inevitably ends up in your mouth and gets processed like anything else you eat."
Victoria Beckham Beauty "Posh" Lipstick
Rose Flower Wax: protects against environmental aggressors and helps retain moisture in lips.
Pomegranate Jojoba Complex: smooths and plumps lip lines for a fuller, firmer appearance and a more defined lip contour. It also helps reinforce the barrier function of the lips to retain moisture and provides antioxidant protection against free radicals which can contribute to signs of aging.
Botanical Blend of Candelilla, Carnauba, and Sunflower Waxes: create a comfortable, cushiony texture and lock in moisture.
A trio of Rosehip, Coconut, and Avocado Oils: provide intense moisturization, nourishment, and shine, whilst also helping to renew and heal chapped lips.
With nine colors to choose from—Pixi, Girl, Spice, Fringe, Pout, Sway, Pose, Play, and Pop—of course, we needed to find out which of the bunch is Beckham’s go-to. "My favorite shade is Spice, the perfect mid-tone, nineties-nude," she says. In a quick tutorial, she also shared how she perfects her signature Posh pout (a recipe I’ve been on the hunt for since my recess days): a swipe of Spice, a dab of Pout in the center, and line with VBB’s Lip Definer in No. 02 ($26).
It almost goes without saying that Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Posh lipsticks arrived just in time to spice up fall makeup looks. The color selection screams autumn chic and trying each shade made me feel like I was fall shopping for my perfect pout. While Beckham’s fave was Spice, I found my perfect pout in Pose. Play and Pop deserve an honorable mention for being bursts of fresh air that break up the neutral palette. If you thought you didn’t need another red, think again. Pop’s cherry hue is more striking than any other red in my beauty arsenal. The creamy finish is also a blast from '90s past since mattes and glosses are having a moment right now. I myself went through a matte lipstick phase a few years back and now I’ve been living in glosses, but this collection has me rethinking creams. These creams lack the severity of mattes while being more polished than glosses.
In the name of living out my Posh fantasy and helping others like me live out theirs, I've tried on each of the 9 shades below.
Spice: mid-tone ginger
Sway: light berry pink
Pout: pale coral pink
Girl: light neutral peach
Pose: mid-tone mauve
Pixie: a pale peach nude
Fringe: deep copper brown
Play: rich plum berry
Pop: beautiful bright red
Every bit about this product feels designer from the "VB" stamp on the lipsticks’ face to the tube. Celebrated creative and packaging designer, Ezra Petronio, designed the slimline metal case that was custom engineered to support the soft, creamy formula crafted with natural waxes (in contrast, many traditional lipstick bullets are made with hard waxes). The cap is adorned with the brand’s signature horn pattern. Posh, no? $38 for one lipstick might seem like a lot, but just picture holding one of these tubes in your hand as you swipe on your signature shade.
Now, add "Spice Up Your Life" as the soundtrack playing in your background. That’s what I did. Yes, the product speaks for itself, but wearing Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Posh Lipstick is my grown-up way of picking which Spice I want to be each time I put it on.
