Even though it's one of the most anticipated beauty sales of the year, we still don't think Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty Sale gets enough credit (and our reasons are many). The first is in its name. Most sales last a couple of days—maybe a week or two if we're lucky. Not this one. For 21 glorious days, we look forward to buying discounted products from some of our favorite brands.
Here's how it works: Each day, a few products go on sale. You can purchase them at their sale price for exactly one day. After 24 hours is up, those products return to their normal listing price and different ones are dropped. This makes it easy to shop for products you actually want without getting overwhelmed and unexpectedly spending your whole paycheck in the midst of a sale frenzy. (We've been there.)
Not only that, but every product that's a part of the sale will be discounted 50% off from it's normal retail price (yes, that's half-off, people!). That makes it even easier to plan and budget, no? Keep scrolling to see every single product in this year's 21 Days of Beauty Sale.
Day 1: September 2
This primer is an Ulta fan favorite thanks to skin-reviving ingredients like coconut water and probiotics. It's formulated to boost the radiance, elasticity, hydration, and smoothness of the skin, even if it's suffering from lack of sleep and/or dehydration.
If dull and dehydrated skin is bringing you down, you might want to snag this Peter Thomas Roth serum, which is filled with ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid, silk proteins, and minerals. Use it alongside the brand's Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser ($14). The latter is normally priced at $28, but like all other sale products, it'll be available at half off.
Day 2: September 3
Stila is a beauty brand known for its eyeliners, and we own too many Stila liners to count—including this smudge pencil, which comes in a wide variety of shades. We like that it's creamy and blendable, yet it's waterproof once it sets for extra-long staying power.
Maybe it's because stress levels are heightened with the return to work and school, or maybe it's simply the change in the seasons, but end-of-summer breakouts are real. Clear them with this three-step system, which includes an exfoliator, a targeted treatment, and a moisturizer.
Day 3: September 4
Yes, even Becca's cult-favorite liquid highlighter will be discounted 50% . We consider this to be a must-try product thanks to the soft, diffused radiance it gives to the skin. (If you're unsure which shade to try, we suggest the classic Champagne Pop. The iridescent golden shade complements every skin tone.)
All hail Mario Badescu, the budget-friendly skincare brand we all know and love. This Acne Facial Cleanser is formulated with salicylic acid, which dermatologists agree is basically a skin-clearing miracle ingredient. The salicylic acid is balanced out with botanicals like aloe, chamomile, and thyme to soothe and refresh inflamed and acneic skin.
Day 4: September 5
If Becca wins the prize for most classic highlighter, Benefit wins the prize for most classic bronzer. Hoola bronzer is beloved for the natural-looking warmth it adds to skin, even if you're applying it in February and your summer tan has long since abandoned you. (By the way, the brand's Hoola Lite Bronzer will also be half-off. It's great for people with pale skin tones.)
Skyn Iceland's fan-favorite eye gels make the list. They use Icelandic glacier water, along with botanicals, peptides, and antioxidants to improve circulation, thereby reviving tired eyes. Pro tip: Put these in your fridge before applying them. Puffiness won't stand a chance.
Day 5: September 6
Take this time to stock up on new liquid lipsticks, since Tarte's will be half-off. We'll be concentrating on growing our berry and wine shade collection, since autumn is near.
Use this as a part of your anti-aging routine. It uses avocado, sunflower, and olive fruit oils to provide maximum moisture, which keeps skin feeling comfortable and makes it appear more youthful.
Day 6: September 7
This newish Lancome mascara made quite the impact on our editors. Let's just say people were asking if we were wearing falsies… #mascaragoals. Check out the full review.
Talk about a good deal. On day six, Ulta is cutting all Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus products by 50% of their original prices. Take this face cream, for instance. It's normally $149, but will go for only $75. It promises to dramatically reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Day 7: September 8
Is this still one of our all-time-favorite brow products? Yes. Is it worth buying even at its regular retail price of $23? Yes. Can it be missed during a 50% off sale? Absolutely not.
Day 8: September 9
This setting powder is tinted to provide light coverage, while keeping oil (and subsequent shine) at bay. It's soft and silky, which gives your skin an airbrushed appearance.
Pair your finishing powder with a new brush, because what's one without the other? All IT Brushes For Ulta that are a part of the Velvet Luxe Collection (aka any brushes which look like the sleek black one, above) will be 50% off.
Day eight even has some skincare deals. Select products from the brand Exuviance—namely its Age Reverse Line—will be half-off. This HydraFirm cream is one of them. It improves the elasticity, firmness, and texture of skin.
Day 9: September 10
Next we have Stila's One Step Primers. While there are a few different versions, we like the color correcting one best, since it does all the work for us. There's peach, which diminishes the look of dark spots and dark circles, green, which covers redness, and purple, which correct sallow tones. It's the quickest, easiest way to make our foundation look better.
This richly moisturizing day cream offers antioxidant protection, which is critical when combatting the effects of daily pollution and free radicals. It also has SPF 15 built-in for a no-fuss approach to daily sunscreen.
Day 10: September 11
We've all heard of plumping lipstick, but what about plumping lip liner? This one from Buxom contains hyaluronic acid and peptides to boost collagen, and thus plumpness, in lips.
Day 10 is your chance to snag a mascara primer from Lancome. This one is conditioning, so it actually perfects your lashes with each use (thanks to vitamin E). Apply it before your first coat of mascara for an extra boost of length and thickness.
Day 11: September 12
The name of this product says it all. If you're looking for something that fakes the results of lip injections, this Too Faced pick might be for you. It's formulated with collagen boosters, marine sponge, and blood vessel dilators to increase the size of your lips.
Here's another powder for you. This time it's Dermablend's Setting Powder. It's loose, not pressed, which makes it good for people who bake their makeup for extra staying power.
Day 12: September 13
Not only does this primer prep your skin for makeup, but it also mattifies the skin and reduces the appearance of pores for a seamless, airbrushed finish. It's a fan favorite for sure.
Clarisonic users, this one's for you. All Clarisonic cleansing brush heads are 50% off. That includes the acne-cleansing, the deep-pore cleansing, and the sensitive skin brush heads.
Day 13: September 14
This brow pencil is unique because it's universal. That's right: There's only one shade. The brand promises it'll match any hair color and cover grays while shaping your brows. It even has nourishing ingredients like vitamins A, C, and E to keep your brows in shape even when you aren't wearing makeup.
Dermalogica's Cleansing Gel is gentle yet effective. It smells pretty great, too, thanks to lavender and mint. Even though it's soap-free, so as not to disrupt the skin's moisture barrier, it suds up into a lightweight foam that makes the skin feel clean and refreshed.
Day 14: September 15
There are actually two different mascaras discounted to 50% off on the 14th day of the sale, and both are from Tarte. The first is this one, Lights Camera Lashes, which is a four-in-one formula to lengthen, volumize, define, and curl lashes. The second is Tarte's Tartiest Lash Paint Mascara ($11), which is all about adding volume and inky black color to lashes.
Vitamin C is one of our favorite skincare ingredients, especially when it comes to serums. There's nothing else like it to brighten our complexion or slow down the visible appearance of aging. Make no mistake: It's kind of magical, so why not buy it for half-off?
Day 15: September 16
Too Faced's Chocolate Bar palette is a dream for anyone who loves warm-toned rosy brown shadow. Each one, regardless of shade, is infused with cocoa powder, so it even smells like chocolate when you open it. That, our friends, is true commitment to a theme.
This might be Philosophy's most popular product ever. If you haven't tried it yet, or maybe you're a die-hard fan, scoop it up for half-off on the 15th day of the sale.
Day 16: September 17
This primer is a Byrdie team favorite. The purpose of it is to act as a liquid blotting paper to rid the skin of excess shine and oil. It's also sweat and humidity-resistant, so makeup really stays put.
Look to First Aid Beauty if you're in need of an effective, no-frills cleanser. It clears the skin of surface impurities but doesn't strip it of its moisture. Like we said, it's a simply a good, no-fuss cleanser.
Day 17: September 18
Brow gel is one of our favorite ways to look put-together when we're short on time. A quick swipe of a tinted gel puts our brows into shape, adding a little definition too.
This one's interesting. SeroVital is a supplement designed to provide anti-aging effects both inside and out. It promises to work against wrinkles and saggy skin while also working to boost energy. It does so by encouraging the body to produce more human growth hormones.
Day 18: September 19
Yes, there's even a MAC product up for sale. Namely, it's the In Extreme Mascara, which provides curl, volume, and dramatic density. Have we mentioned how much we love Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty Sale yet?
All Juice Beauty skincare kits are on sale, too. That includes the anti-blemish one (above), as well as the anti-wrinkle kit and age-defying kit.
Day 19: September 20
These Enhancer Drops can be used as a traditional liquid highlighter or they can be added to your existing foundation or moisturizer for an all-over radiant glow. Basically they let you play beauty chemist by mixing and matching. We love that.
This is the perfect way to explore a variety of products from Origins. It's also a perfect travel skincare kit for anyone who's constantly on the go. It includes a face wash, moisturizer, eye cream, and spot treatment.
Day 20: September 21
This Benefit primer is a real classic. Seriously—it's used by everyone from beauty editors to beauty bloggers and professional makeup artists. We have yet to find a primer that diminishes the look of pores as well as this one.
This is a lightweight gel-cream hybrid moisturizer. It's oil-free and non-acneic, which makes it an option for people who are prone to breakouts.
Day 21: September 22
Alas, we have reached the final day in Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty Sale. It's always sad when a sale comes to an end, but it's not all bad. After all, the 21st and final day is when Urban Decay's beloved setting spray is marked down to half of its original retail price. Spritz this on your face post-makeup application for extra staying power.
The final product up for grabs is this fan-favorite moisturizer from IT Cosmetics. It's formulated with collagen, hyaluronic acid, peptides, ceramides, antioxidants, and colloidal oatmeal to address a number of skin issues. Most of all, though, it's superbly hydrating, which is why it's so popular for use in the fall and winter months.
There you have it: That was every single product a part of 2018's 21 Days of Beauty Sale. Happy shopping.
