We thought we had Tory Burch's preppy aesthetic pegged, but the designer decided to throw us through a loop this season with a more organic (but equally pretty) beauty look than we've seen from her in the past: Inspired by nature and finding beauty in unexpected places, Burch sent her models down the runway with slightly damp, artfully knotted hair and fresh, dewy faces. Cat-eye liner still gave it a preppy feel, for sure, but all in all, it made for a lovely juxtaposition against her collection. And this somewhat unexpected choice drove home the point that minimal makeup has officially risen as the go-to look of the season.

Lead artist Diane Kendal mainly used products from Burch's beauty line (natch) for the look. After prepping and moisturizing the skin in order to enhance a natural, lit-from-within glow, she swept the label's Divine Blush and Bronzer ($48) onto the cheeks for a little additional color. She then created what she called a "worn-in eye": After applying Pas du Tout Eyeshadow ($48) in Gamine to lids for a neutral wash of color, Kendal used MAC's Eye Kohl ($17) in Teddy, using her finger to smudge the liner into a wing.
Kendal completed the look by adding just a touch of nude polish to the lips (Burch's Lip Color, $32, in Pas du Tout), blending it with concealer to keep it looking neutral and seamless with the rest of the face.
