I’m a 26-year-old digital creator who’s lived in Los Angeles for the past three years. When I was growing up in Seattle, my skin always made me so self-conscious. After school, I’d head to Sephora, searching for products that would help me achieve glowy, healthy-looking skin, but what really changed everything was when I discovered YouTube. I would watch video after video, learning more about skincare and how to create an effective routine, and eventually, I decided to create my own channel in 2017. I live by my routine. Every morning, after I wake up, I start my day with an iced matcha latte. Then it’s time to get into my skincare routine. Since I live in L.A., I know I have to deal with a lot of environmental stressors (pollution, ozone, etc), so I always cleanse for a full minute to make sure the ingredients are able to fully penetrate into my skin. Lately, I’ve been frustrated by the look of fine lines and an overall dullness, so three weeks ago, I introduced my new holy-grail product: The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum.
After I cleanse and tone, I apply a full dropper of the serum into the palm of my hands and carefully pat it into my skin. The antioxidants immediately get to work, creating a dewy, hydrated glow (also, can we talk about the smell? I’m obsessed). Even if I haven’t gotten my full six to eight hours of sleep, this serum helps to make me look well-rested and energized. I love that it’s lightweight—it never clogs my pores—and chock-full of nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and free of parabens, phthalates, sulfites, sulfates, and mineral oil. From there, I follow up with a hydrating moisturizer and an SPF to protect my skin.
Skincare is essential, but I try to take a truly holistic approach to wellness, so I also make sure to focus on hydration and nutrition too. I always make sure to carry my 40-ounce water bottle with me and refill it three to four times per day to make sure I drink enough water. I know it seems like everyone says to drink more water, but it really does make such a big difference, especially after I’ve hit the gym. Once I finish my work for the day (you can catch my latest #ootds, current makeup and skin routines, and style videos on my TikTok and Instagram accounts), I make myself something healthy for dinner. Lately, I’ve been enjoying steak and roasted sweet potatoes on a bed of lettuce.
Now it’s time for the best part of my day: my nighttime skincare routine. It’s pretty similar to my a.m. routine, but one of my favorite recent additions is spending a few minutes giving myself a facial massage with The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. I found the technique on TikTok, and it’s made such a big difference—both from a relaxation standpoint and to ease the tension that builds up throughout the day along my cheekbones, temples and the outer edges of my face. I simply apply my serum normally and then use my knuckles to lightly massage my face from my temples down. Taking extra time for myself sets me up for quality sleep and impacts my whole week.
