Think back to every movie scene in history in which a woman, dressed to the nines, struts into a room, commands everyone’s attention, and stops time. Is her hair in a low gym pony? Slicked back into a tight, gelled bun? No, it is not. It’s big, it’s full of movement, it’s touchable. It’s hair that took some effort—and isn’t afraid to admit it.
But you don’t have to settle for a basic bouncy blowout to get the bombshell look. There are so many ways to interpret volume—the key ingredient to stop-and-stare-at-me hair—depending on your texture, length, and personal style.
To prove it, we used Aloxxi’s Bombshell Volumizing Grip Styler to create three unique looks on women with different hair types. The product creates volume with just the right amount of hold, enhances texture and adds shine, and feels weightlessly soft. It’s the ultimate one-and-done product you can use on wet or dry hair. Bethany: Naturally Straight, Flat Hair
We always want what we don’t have. Bethany says her naturally straight, flat hair and usual morning routine of simply running a brush through and pulling it up into a half-bun can get boring sometimes. “I love when I have waves and volume throughout my hair, so this is perfect,” she says.
To get the look, Aloxxi’s National Educator, Tommy Cole, liberally sprayed the Bombshell Volumizing Grip Styler all over Bethany’s dry hair to create texture. Next, he used a flat iron on medium heat (the product protects hair up to 450 degrees) to add waves in two-inch wide sections. The trick is to hold the iron horizontally, then flick your wrists back and forth as you move down the length. To finish, he had Bethany flip her hair so he could spray the underside for even more volume.
Luisa: 3B Curls, Blow-Dried Straight
Luisa isn’t afraid to experiment with her 3b curls. She loves her hair when it’s pin-straight, full of extra-bouncy curls, or pulled back into an adventurous style like this one.
Tommy used a flatiron to straighten her hair, then sectioned off the top portion of hair, just below the crown. He sprayed the rest with Bombshell Volumizing Grip Styler before pulling it into a ponytail, which he fishtail-braided halfway down. Next, he divided the top section in half and sprayed Bombshell before back-combing each section into a pompadour-esque roll and pinning in place.
Cristina: Thick, Wavy Hair
Cristina’s thick, wavy hair already has plenty of natural volume throughout, but Tommy wanted to build it out at the top for the ultimate “bombshell” style that brought out the multidimensional warm tones of her color.
He sectioned her hair and added waves with a 1” curling iron. After unwrapping each section from the iron, he sprayed it with Bombshell Volumizing Grip Styler. After working his way around the entire head, he had Cristina flip her hair upside down so he could spray underneath. The final touch: creating playful lift by pinning back a section at the crown. “I feel good when I have the biggest hair possible with all the waves,” laughs Cristina.
