The Honest Company Organic Body Oil
We put The Honest Company Organic Body Oil to the test after receiving a complimentary sample from the brand. Keep reading for our full product review.
You might’ve come across a few good body oils in your day, yet the verdict can still be up in the air surrounding oils due to their consistency and finish. Many just don't provide the level of hydration that areas like dry, rough knees and elbows need. It’s no surprise that our skin needs moisture— after all, it is the largest organ we have that’s exposed to so many elements. Whether you have really dry skin or want to add a little glisten, body oil comes in all types of formulas, some being incredibly nourishing and others—not so much.
Ahead, I put The Honest Company’s Organic Body Oil to the test to see if it checked off all the right boxes.
Best for: Full body, face, and hair

About My Skin: I’m dry and love a good body oil
I have dry, sensitive skin and am always in need of some kind of moisturizer. I love body oil, especially after shaving and showering when my skin is primed to absorb quality moisture. I have tried several different body oils in the past and used them alone and also in combination with lotions and creams. Some brands of oil I reach for often and have used in the past are Nuxe, Avene, and L’Occitane.
How to Apply: Massage liberally into skin any time
You can apply this oil directly to your skin at any time, or add a pump to your favorite body cream or lotion for some extra benefits. The best way to apply is to pump into hands and then massage all over the body in soft strokes to ensure the oil gets absorbed and you don’t miss any dry patches. If you tend to get bumps after shaving, follow up with this oil right away to help soothe any irritation or inflammation. You can add the oil to your face moisturizer, as well, and also run a tiny bit through your hair to smooth out frizz and flyaways.
The Results: Supple skin with no greasy residue
This oil feels wonderful going on the skin and has a nice consistency to it. It doesn’t slip as much as some other body oils I’ve tried in the past, and it feels very nourishing on the skin. I love the fact that it doesn’t have any fragrance that interacts with perfume or other products where I want the scent to stand out.
I used this body oil at different times, after showering and shaving, before getting dressed, and before bed as well to test it out and found each time my skin felt supple, soft, and not greasy or sticky, which is really important to me (and I would assume to anyone, as no one likes to feel sticky).
I didn’t need to re-apply the oil at all through the day and felt it consistently hydrated my skin, which I found to be one of the most beneficial things of all.
This oil feels wonderful going on the skin and has a nice consistency to it, where it doesn’t slip as much as some other body oils I’ve tried in the past.
The Value: Small but worth it
Seeing as the oil comes in a 4-ounce bottle, the size is a tad smaller than other body oils and lotions, yet for the price of $10 it’s an absolute bargain for how little oil you need to use and the long-lasting hydrating effects your skin will feel throughout the day. I give my stamp of approval on the cost of this product and feel it can integrate well into anyone’s skincare and beauty routines.
