If you didn’t already know, we have a (not so) secret Facebook group called The British Beauty Line. It’s a place where you can—in a no-judgement zone—ask any beauty and wellness questions, seek product or treatment recommendations and generally just have a chat with like-minded (read: beauty-obsessed) people. Sounds fun, right? If you want to join, simply head to The British Beauty Line on Facebook. Need more convincing? Keep reading to see seven pearls of beauty wisdom we’ve learnt in the group.
The group loves acid toners as much as we do here at Byrdie HQ. Why are acid toners so great? They gently slough away dead skin cells to reveal glowing skin and help to keep pores clear, meaning fewer spot and blackheads. Pixi Glow Tonic (£18) and Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Extra Strength Formula (£77) are top picks.
Glossier’s new mascara Lash Slick (£14) is a winner with TBBLers. They love it for its longevity and everyday wear but prefer one with more volume for evening occasions. For a glam look, they tend to go for Maybelline’s lash-boosting mascaras.
La Roche-Posay is the standout SPF of choice while some think the La Roche-Posay Redermic Retinol Eye Cream (£26) is also pretty great. “It doesn’t peel, doesn’t make my eyes sensitive and it seems to be working on my dehydrated area,” said one member.
Niche beauty finds are much loved, too. “I’m currently obsessed with the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask because it’s super cheap and works so well,” said another member.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream (£13) is a favourite with the group. In fact, one member said it was “awesome.”
For a fake glow, they look to Charlotte Tilbury and are split between the new Hollywood Flawless Filter (£30) and the Wonder Glow (£39).
