The day has come—Target has finally, finally launched its own beauty line. Rather than kick off with makeup or skincare, the much-loved mass retailer decided to go a different route: 38 cheery nail polishes named after pop culture phrases (the base coat is called All About That Base, while the cherry red is Rose Ceremony—so #ontrend). Defy & Inspire, the name of the line, promises high-shine, long-wearing formulas at an affordable price point—each polish is offered for $7.49 a piece. Made with patented plasticizers to create “color flexibility” and a shiny, crack-free finish, the polishes are also 5-free and free of chemicals like DBP, toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and camphor.

Though you can’t snatch up cheeky polishes until January 17, 2015,  we got a first look at some of the shades and can already tell it’s going to be a hit. Our favorites? A pale periwinkle blue named Laguna Beach, and a soft vanilla beige named Say Yes. As you anxiously await the new collection, feel free to peruse the rest of Target's amazing beauty offerings
