Why Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Facetunes Her Photos Sometimes

Updated 10/02/18

I just scrolled through Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's Instagram in complete and utter awe. Wow. Her beauty is seriously next-level. This supermodel blesses her 8.5 million Instagram followers with striking selfies and breathtaking beauty looks all the time. One glance at her gorgeous Instagram feed will have you convinced that her skin is a 10/10 all the time. But, surprisingly enough, that isn't always the case, and the model isn't afraid to admit it: "I struggle with my skin—it's a constant uphill battle for me," she told beauty influencer Marianna Hewitt in an interview

In fact, she's not shy about relying on photo editing apps to brush up her skin sometimes when it needs some extra loving. "I'm not someone that will hide the fact that I'll Facetune a picture," Huntington-Whiteley says confidently. "Sometimes, I have bad skin or I'm in bad light and just want to adjust things here and there." Literally, same. Her other favorite photo editing apps are VSCO Cam and Afterlight, so take notes.

When it comes down to it, Huntington-Whiteley is a true beauty girl at heart. "I'm really diligent with my skin," she tells Hewitt. Behind the glamorous looks, she takes pristine care of her skin. Here are her all-time favorite skincare products at the moment.

iS Clinical Active Serum $135

"If you have to invest in one skincare product, I’ll always tell people to invest in this one," she says. "It's really good for acne, fine lines, wrinkles, and sunspots."

iS Clinical Hydra-Cool Serum $90

She loves layering this cooling serum on top of the brand's active serum. "I like serums because they really penetrate deeper into your skin, and I also like the glow they leave on my skin," she says. Sometimes thick moisturizers can feel too heavy for her, so she prefers serums.

Shani Darden Resurface Retinol Reform $95

Huntington-Whitely gives lots of credit to celebrity facialist and aesthetician Shani Darden for improving her skin. She uses Shani Darden's Retinol Reform because the formula is gentle enough for her skin, unlike the retinol disasters she's had in the past.

Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Unscented Toner $10

"This is a really great way of cleansing, toning, refining, and restoring my skin before I apply any makeup," she says speaking of this drugstore gem.

Beauty Elixir 3.4 oz/ 100 mL
Caudalie Beauty Elixir $18

She loves spritzing this cult classic all over her face "all day every day."

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion $17

"One of my all-time favorites is the Mario Bodescu Drying Lotion because I constantly have a spot. It helps with drying spots out.”

Now that we've talked skincare I'm sure you want to know her desert island makeup products. In a rapid-fire round, the supermodel picked these six must-have makeup products as her holy grails.
