Beauty-wise, it can be hard to compete with a maroon patent leather coat dress and matching boots. But because Rihanna is Rihanna, her makeup does just that.
While the singer skipped out on the red carpet this year, it didn't take long for us to get to see her, as she won the first award of the night (Best Rap/Sung Performance) with rapper Kendrick Lamar for their song "Loyalty."
Here's the breakdown of her look. Fenty by Rihanna global makeup artist Priscilla Ono first used the Fenty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer ($32) as a base to hold Rihanna's makeup in place and to control shine. Then Ono used the Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 330 ($34) to give Rihanna a natural matte look. For definition, Ono contoured with the Fenty Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Mocha ($25). As for the killer highlight game that Fenty is famous for, she used the Fenty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Girl Next Door ($34) across Rihanna's cheekbones and other high points on her face.
Moving on to the eyes, instead of using shadow, Ono used the Fenty Match Stix in Mocha and Espresso ($25) to get a deep brown shadow to match the dress. For Rihanna's lips, she used a chestnut shade with the Fenty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Shawty ($18).
Fenty FTW (when is it not?) and proving once more that Rihanna is just goals all around.
