Revlon Will Launch a Brand-New Luxury Makeup Line Next Month

By now, we're pretty accustomed to spendier, prestigious makeup brands debuting budget-friendly lines designed to appeal to the more frugal consumer. However, we're less accustomed to budget-friendly brands synonymous with our local drugstore going the opposite direction and launching something more luxurious. And yet, that's exactly what Revlon will be doing come June.

As initially reported by WWD, Revlon's creative director, Linda Wells, will be launching her own line of shade-inclusive makeup (appropriately entitled Flesh) as early as next month. Exciting, right? And as mentioned, the focus will first and foremost be placed on inclusivity and showcasing a wide breadth of shades (40 in total) to complement a wide variety of skin tones.

Also thrown into the mix will be 14 highlighters, 13 lipsticks, eight blushes, and, of course, sleek, millenial-esque packaging. (Think pint-size and perky.) So where did Flesh come from? As The Cut reports, every aspect of the line (blushes and lippies included) will especially focus on bettering and broadening the way the industry approaches "nude."

"It's really focused on the idea of flesh being all flesh colors—we're redefining the notion of what flesh color really is and having it be inclusive on every level," Wells explained to WWD. "Now, 40 foundations has almost become the industry standard, but it's really broadening that conversation and proposition out to other products as well."

So although both our interest and excitement have been equally piqued, there's still a lot to know. And of course, we can't wait to actually get our hands on the products to test-drive them against a few of our other favorite brands which have led the pack so far when it comes to industry standards of inclusivity (Fenty Beauty, MAC Cosmetics, Cover FX coming to mind first). So let the countdown begin! Flesh will be available exclusively on June 24 and in Ulta stores by July 8.

Next up, Kim Kardashian West is launching 11 new nude lip products.
