While job performance outweighs all else at the office, personal presentation is also an important factor in most environments. But is there one makeup look that really delivers above all others? Actually, yes.
Aliza Licht—the social media guru formerly known as DKNY PR Girl—reveals very interesting research in an essay for The New York Post. According to a survey she conducted with nearly 500 women (who work in a variety of industries), 78.8% feel that red lipstick projects an air of confidence to others.
As far as wearing a scarlet pout to an interview, the women were split on its appropriateness: 46.6% said that it's a good idea, but only 14% thought that red lipstick reflects negatively on the wearer, so there's that.
We're certainly all about a red lip—our only advice is to keep it sharp and clean, using a longwear lip liner (like Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil, $20) to prevent bleeding. (And do regular teeth checks!)
