She may play a tough cop on this season of True Detective (one who looks beautiful even when she’s getting messy on the job), but Rachel McAdams’s versatile beauty always grabs the spotlight off screen, too. Her elegant look for the Southpaw premiere in New York City was created with the midsummer humidity in mind, celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin explains. “The key to ‘heatwave beauty’ is to let the skin breathe and focus on the eyes, which is just what I did for Rachel’s makeup last night.” Martin says. “A dark, slept-in, smudgy eye works with the humidity, creating depth and giving her overall look more of an edge.”
To get the perfect cocoa-meets-metallic smoky eye, Martin blended Diorshow Khôl Stick ($32) in Smoky Brown #789 with the brand-new Dior Addict Fluid Shadow ($32) in Univers #655, a stunning copper shade from the Fall 2015 Color Collection, launching in August.
For McAdams’s lips, “the perfect finishing touch was a fresh, berry-stained lip, using brand-new Dior Addict Lipstick ($33) in shade Be Dior,” Martin explains.
