5 At-Home Workouts for When You Really Don’t Want to Work Out

When the alarm goes off and it’s all warm and snuggly under your covers and the temperature outside is the exact opposite, getting yourself to the gym becomes a struggle. Couple that with the stress of the holidays, travel, and Netflix’s ever-increasing library, and the drive to work out all but disappears. This is why YouTube was invented. When you can’t bring yourself to put on athletic shoes and drive yourself to gym, try an at-home workout, courtesy of your laptop.

If you can muster up of the strength for a 20-minute workout, do this one. It’s a total-body sculpting workout that doesn’t require a lot of space or any props. It'll leave you feeling great.

Women's Health

Five minutes of working out is better than zero minutes of working out. And this workout is no joke. It’s five moves in five minutes—with each move, you go hard for 50 seconds, and then rest for 10 seconds. You’ll definitely feel this workout, but remember: It’s only five minutes.

If anything “total-body” sounds too ambitious to you, try glute bridges. This buns-and-thighs workout is made up entirely of glute bridges (that’s right, you don’t even have to stand up), and it's set to the soothing sound of Ballet Beautiful’s Mary Helen Bowers’s voice. (Leotard not required.)

This ab workout is anything but boring. It moves quickly, is set to high-energy music, and offers plenty of modifications. It’s the perfect way to start off your day during the season of eating. Feeling good about this one? Make some of the exercises more difficult by adding a hand weight or a Pilates Mini Exercise Ball ($11).

 The Yoga Solution

If you’re looking for a more relaxing workout, the choice is obvious: yoga. This full-body sequence takes only nine minutes to cycle through, but it hits all your favorite moves. And you can make it as challenging as you please.
