When someone is as arrestingly beautiful as Priyanka Chopra, it's almost consolation to find out that they use a barrage of products or get fancy treatments, as if their impossibly good genetic makeup isn't the sole reason they're so captivating. Plus, that implies that if one were to purchase said products or treatments, they too may have the opportunity to have better skin, fuller lips, and the like. So you can imagine the sheer pangs of disappointment we felt when the actress told us her off-duty makeup regimen is just a tube of lip balm. As if this weren't discouraging enough, she also told us that her secret for glowing skin was drinking a ton of lemon water. I don't know about you, but I could drink an ocean's worth of lemon water and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't come out on the other side looking half as good as Chopra. But while she remained reticent about her routine way back when she and her makeup artist Pati Dubroff recently revealed the unsung hero of her pre-makeup prep in a video with Harper's Bazaar.
As soon as Dubroff pulls out the jelly-like rose-gold 111Skin mask, Chopra exasperatedly says, "We looove!" Dubroff credits the mask for giving off an "incredible, plump glow" and says that it's cooling on contact, like an instant "wake-up call." The hydrogel mask is infused with antioxidant-rich 24K gold and rose extract, as well as licorice root and vitamin E to brighten, hydrate, and lift the skin before your eyes. At $32 a pop, they're definitely an investment, so we recommend stowing them away for big events.
After the mask comes off, Dubroff likes to use a Japanese metal face roller to increase circulation and drain excess fluid from within the skin. Then she moisturizes the perimeter of Chopra's face to avoid adding too much shine and applies a matte primer to the center of the face to nix T-zone glow. Here are our favorite plumping masks.
