To a beauty lover, word of mouth is everything. Some of our all-time favorite products were introduced to us through the sweet, doting descriptions of co-workers, friends, and internet acquaintances. Think about it, you didn’t stumble upon Urban Decay Naked Palette ($54) or MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick ($17) from perusing the Sephora aisles or watching an internet ad. It’s more likely that you were introduced to these cult favorites from a shiny-eyed, rosy-cheeked, woman who just fell in love. After all, the beauty world breeds fickle consumers. For a product to rise to stardom, it has to apply flawlessly, deliver serious results, and work universally. What better way to ensure it hits all of the marks than from a trusted first-person source?
