About The Brand: PCA Skin was founded in 1990 by both a dermatologist and esthetician who felt the importance of creating results-driven skincare along with utilizing advanced formulas for intricate skincare concerns. For over 25 years, PCA Skin has been one of the leading skincare brands to offer elite treatments through their team of highly qualified skincare professionals.

About My Skin: I have some spots

I have two noticeable spots on the left side of my face that I’ve been wanting to fade, and my skin is combination sensitive, which means that I am oily and dry, and often react to products that have too much fragrance or active ingredients. Taking care of my skin is very important to me, so I do have a consistent morning and nighttime skincare routine that I follow religiously, Some skincare brands that I use regularly are Skinceuticals, La Roche Posay, Biologique Recherche, and Alastin Skincare.

How To Apply: Dab directly on spots AM and PM

For this specific product, you’re going to want to be consistent with it and use it twice a day to start seeing any real results. Remember, over time you will gradually start to see your dark spots and scarring fade, yet it is not an overnight fix. After cleansing and toning your face in the AM, apply the gel to the areas of concern and let it fully absorb before moving on to the rest of your skincare. When using this gel in the daytime, sunscreen must be your last step in your skincare regime. At night, follow the same protocols. Cleanse, tone, and apply the gel directly to the areas of concern. Wait for it to fully dry and then move on to applying the rest of your products, You will need to consistently use this product for at least 3 weeks minimum before noticing any kind of difference, and will need to continue long after that to achieve desired results.

The Results: Progress is visible

I know that to lighten any kind of age spot or scar, takes more than 3 weeks, but I am happy with the progress that I am seeing so far and will continue to use the gel until I am done with the treatment to see just how lightened these two problem areas have become.

After 3 weeks of applying the gel morning and night, I have noticed that the one spot on the left side of my face closer to my cheek is starting to fade a little more than the one that’s higher up closer to my left eye.

The gel is easy to use, you tap it right on the spot and let it absorb, and the first few times I used it, I felt a slight stinging sensation where I applied the gel, but that went away after the third time and has not come back. My skin has not had any kind of adverse reaction to this product, whatsoever.

The Value: A bit pricey

At the price of $64 this product is not considered budget-friendly, but when you look at the breakdown of ingredients and the fact that you only need to use a small amount each day, this 1oz size gel can actually last you longer than you’d expect, making it a valuable investment in return.
