Today, news broke that Pat McGrath, the legendary makeup artist that some people affectionately and respectfully refer to as "Mother Makeup," is expanding her namesake beauty brand yet again. (This launch comes on the heels of her last one—the Eyedols Eyeshadow $25, which are single pan shades of highly-pigmented matte, shimmer, and metallic eyeshadows).
While every single one of McGrath's new products are met with waves of anticipation and enthusiasm, this next launch is going to be on a whole other level. Why, you ask? It includes a product that we personally have been waiting for for months now (if not years). Pat McGrath is officially launching her first foundation. It's called the Sublime Perfection Foundation, and it will be one of five new complexion products she's launching at the end of July. Keep scrolling to see everything we know about these five products thus far.
Here's every single one of the five products that are set to launch soon. There's a primer, two brushes, a foundation, and a setting powder, all housed in luxurious black and gold packaging. The entire set is called Sublime Perfection The System. Let's unpack each product, shall we?
First up, we have McGrath's debut primer. It comes in one universal shade, and it will retail for $60 per bottle. According the website, it's a water-based formula that includes hyaluronic acid for an instant moisturizing effect. It promises to prime, smooth, hydrate, and renew skin with a velvety matte finish.
Next is the real star of the show (at least in our opinion). McGrath's first foundation is called the Sublime Perfection Foundation. It will be available in a total of 36 shades, and it will retail for $68 per bottle. From what we've read in the press release, and what we already know about McGrath's other makeup products, we have a feeling that this foundation will impart buildable, medium coverage on the skin. As the press release states, "Whether your fantasy is the minimal majorness of Mother’s iconic 'No Makeup' makeup or you love to lavish yourself in luxurious layers of seductive skinspiration, all you need to remember are three little words - Prime, Perfect, Set.'" We don't know about you, but that sounds like buildable coverage to us.
After priming and perfecting, comes the third and final step: setting. The Sublime Perfection Setting Powder will come available in 5 shades and retail for $55. According to the website it has a "barely-there" texture and a "soft focus" effect. We can just imagine how refined and silky the powder will feel once we get our hands on it.
Finally, we have McGrath's two new complexion brushes. They look weighty and luxurious with their fluffy bristles and black and gold handles. It seems like the smaller of the two is meant for foundation application (it looks a lot like a buffing brush to us), while the larger one is meant for powder application (the dome-shaped bristles are a dead giveaway).
Every single one of these products will be available for purchase on July 26, so mark your calendars. In the meantime, check out everything you need to know about Glossier's latest product: Brow Flick.
