Beauty, like fashion, is easy to label as vain and shallow. It's all about appearance, something that's unimportant and fleeting, right? Well, we beg to differ. To us, skincare and makeup is about expression, individuality, confidence, and even self-care. One person's interest in beauty has the potential to benefit others, and there are plenty of ways to give back if you're a beauty lover.

It doesn't have to be on an individual level, either. Popular brands and retailers have programs designed to give back to charities, all the while raising awareness for certain issues. Chantecaille is perhaps one of the most famous examples of this. The luxurious skin and makeup brand regularly releases collections that benefit various wildlife foundations (one of our favorites is the Philanthropy Cheek Collection Bee Blush $40, which benefits The Xerces Society).

The newest retailer to donate proceeds to charity is Olivela, a luxury online beauty destination. The site offers products from high-end brands like By Terry, Christian Louboutin, R + Co, Oribe, and more.

Olivela used to be a fashion site exclusively, but now it's welcomed over 25 makeup, skincare, hair, and fragrance brands to its virtual retail space. The brands in question are high-end and luxurious. We're talking brands like Sisley Paris, 111Skin, and 3LAB. That doesn't mean you have to drop hundreds of dollars, though, since it also carries brands you could find at Sephora or Ulta. Think those like R + Co, Oribe, and Sunday Riley.

Each month, Olivela chooses a specific charity to send proceeds to. During the month of February, it's the Too Young to Wed Foundation, which provides health essentials and resources to survivors of child marriage. The best part is that you can see how many girls each purchase will benefit. Under each product, there's a note sharing how many days of health services it will provide. For example, the R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo ($30) will provide one full day of health essentials to girls in need.

Meanwhile, the fan-favorite Sisley Paris Black Rose Precious Face Oil ($235) will provide three full days of health services.

Each product is easy to shop, see, and learn about. At face value, it's a luxury beauty retailer just like the others you can find from all corners of the web. With this one, however, you can benefit children in need and see the exact extent of your impact. It's a genius concept that gives us another, more important reason to stock up on our favorite beauty essentials.
