This Is by Far the Biggest Hair Trend at NYFW

Traditional catwalks are so passé during fashion month—instead, designers push boundaries with unexpected venues (high school pools! The streets of Brooklyn!) or if you're Alexander Wang, a corporate office. Lit by fluorescent bulbs and decked out in gray, cubicle-style textiles, the fall/winter 2018 Wang runway drew inspiration from '80s power women. But perhaps one of the most unifying elements of the theme was the banana clip placed in the models' hair.

As soon as images surfaced of the slicked back 'do and accompanying claw clips, social media was abuzz with captions musing that Wang "brought the '90s back" (millennials fondly recall days of hair securely fastened with this accessory). And, as it turns out,  '90s glam was the reverberant hair theme at New York Fashion Week.
