5 Easy Tricks I Learnt for Glowing Skin, Bigger Brows and Fuller Lips

About a year ago, I stumbled across Nikki Wolff on Instagram and fell in love with her makeup aesthetic: Think impossibly glowing skin, bushy brows and full lips. It's not "Instagram makeup," but there's something incredibly pleasing about the looks she creates. It looks totally wearable yet almost ethereal at the same time. So when Becca Cosmetics invited me to Greece last week with the brand's global makeup ambassador, Nikki Makeup, I knew I had to go and get my makeup done by her. Thankfully, she obliged and gave me the full "Nikki Makeup" look.

I got so many compliments on my makeup after Wolff was through with me. It looked so glowy but not intimidating. In fact, I've been trying to re-create the look on myself since, and whilst I'm nowhere near as skilled as she is, I've been able to give it a good go. It helped that she imparted five pieces of makeup advice on me that I'm now going to share with you. Keep scrolling to find out the five key components to Nikki Wolff's makeup aesthetic.

1. Apply Primer With a Brush

Wolff told me she applies primer with a brush rather than her fingers so that she can control the application. It also ensures that the product doesn't end up where it shouldn't be (like on the brows). The good thing about applying primer with a brush is that you can use as little or as much as you'd like. Plus you can use multiple primers, so for instance, you can apply a mattifying or pore-minimizing primer along your T-zone and an illuminating primer everywhere else. It's only recently that I've gotten into using illuminating primers like Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44) and Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Radiance (£30).

Those two are my favorites, but I've recently added two Becca primers into my repertoire also.

A sort of primer and highlighter in one, this can be worn alone to perfect and brighten the skin or as a base under foundation. It comes in seven shades, and the lightest and darkest ones can be used to alter your foundation shade between seasons. The Moonstone shade (a pale gold) is Wolff's favorite, which means it's now my favorite shade too.

The lavender option brightens the complexion and neutralizes sallow tones in the skin.

2. Use a Smaller Brush for Contour and Highlight

I'm sure I'm not the only one who tends to use a random blusher or bronzer brush to apply highlighter. Wolff recommends using a smaller brush to contour and highlight so you have control over where the product sits. Makes total sense, right?

3. Use Nikki's Secret to Bushy Brows

If you want "Nikki" brows that are full and bushy, you need two products in particular. First, you need to use a spoolie with Soapbrows (£12), which is essentially a tin of soap that you wet and brush through your brows. Soapbrows helps to create a fullness whilst separating each hair. Next, you need Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade (£19). Wolff used a small flat square brush to apply the pomade and filled in the gaps by drawing in hair. Et voilà—Nikki Wolff brows!

Tip #4: Know How to Overline Lips Like a Pro

The key to realistic-looking fuller lips, says Wolff, is to always subtly overl ine the Cupid's bow along with the rest of the lips. Be careful, though, as a deep V at the bow can be a telltale sign that you've over lined your lips. She used By Terry Crayon Levres Terrybly in Baby Bare (£24) all over my lips before applying a Becca gloss to create a fuller-looking pout.
