The 2020 MTV Movie & TV Awards typically honors the most impressive film and television releases of the year. But with the coronavirus pandemic having forced many movies and series to halt production and delay releasing this year, the award show decided to pivot. Last night’s show instead took us all down a trip down memory lane by honoring the best movies and TV shows of the past four decades.
While things were a bit different this year, that didn’t stop our favorite celebs from delivering show-stopping hair and makeup moments on the red carpet. From Vanessa Hudgens’ bouncy bob to Lily Collins’ taupe-inspired glam, there were plenty of beauty inspo at last night’s awards show. We’ve even included a few tips and tricks directly from their glam teams on how you can recreate your favorite looks at home. Ahead, take a look at the best beauty moments from the 2020 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
As this year’s host, we expected Hudgens to show up to the awards with a show-stopping beauty look, and the actress definitely didn’t disappoint. Hudgens’ hairstylist Chad Wood styled her sleek shoulder-length bob using the Hot Tools White Gold Detachable One Step Volumizer ($100). Her glowy glam was painted on by Allan Avendaño, who used all YSL Beauty products to complete the look.
Lily Collins always looks chic when she graces a red carpet. For last night’s awards ceremony, the actress’ makeup artist Fiona Stiles was inspired by taupe tones and used all Lancôme products (Collins is a longtime ambassador!) to create the neutral look. Collins’ pulled-back ponytail was perfectly styled by Diego Da silva.
If we had to choose one word to describe Sofia Carson’s glam, it would be electrifying. With her hair pulled back into a slick bun, the actress’s red lip instantly became the star of this look. To achieve her bold pout, Carson’s MUA Karan Mitchell used the Revlon x Sofia Carson Super Lustrous™ The Luscious Matte Lipstick ($9) in On Fire and Revlon x Sofia Carson Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor ($10) in The Sofia Red.
All eyes were on Sabrina Carpenter when she hit the red carpet. The actress’s straight blonde locks were styled by Scott King using the ghd platinum+ styler ($249). For Carpenter’s makeup, Allan Avendaño reached for all YSL Beauty products to achieve her nude lip and shimmery shadow look.
