Monochromatic makeup is a red carpet go-to for A-listers like Lupita Nyong'o, Lily Collins and Rita Ora. It's where all the colour in your makeup look is the same—your eyes, lips, cheeks will all be from the the one colour family. The result? Stunning looks that flatter their skin tones and without taking away from their outfits. Clever, right?
Below, makeup artist Zoë Taylor shows you how to create a monochromatic look at home. In this video tutorial, she starts with a deep berry hue on the eyelids and ties it all together by using pink blusher on the eyelids and cheeks and slicking on a complimentary pink lip. Try it out, and why not experiment with different shades and combinations?
Next up, tempted to try the glass skin trend? We have a tutorial for that too.
