New York Fashion Week tends to debut edgy and eccentric looks (think wet-look hair, graphic eyes, and maximalist nail art). London Fashion Week, on the other hand, goes for more traditional beauty, but with that bespoke Brit cool-girl flair (this year, we loved the "cashmere skin" at Burberry, especially). Milan Fashion Week, on the other hand, emphasizes the smoky, sultriness of Italian icons like Sophia Loren and Monica Bellucci. Here, classic cat eyeliner, red lips, and sleek, volumized hair abound.
Whether aware of it or not, celebs take the hint, seeming to follow suit with their hair and makeup. This year, celebs like Hailey Baldwin, Bianca Balti, and more, debuted stunning vintage-inspired looks that left us wanting to board the next flight to Italy. (What's that saying—when in Milan, do as the Milanese do?) Keep reading to see our 10 favorite celeb looks from all of Milan Fashion Week.
Kaia Gerber attended a Vogue Italia party with her supermodel mom, Cindy Crawford, wearing super-slick middle-parted hair and brushed-up brows with a sultry brown eye and nude lip. (Only one word comes to mind: goals).
Italian model Bianca Balti didn't need any statement makeup to complement her perfectly-bronzed skin. (On that note, see the tanning products that Italian women swear by for an even glow.)
Victoria's Secret model Elsa Hosk arrived at the annual Milan amfAR gala looking like a siren from the silver screen. A bold wine lip and black liner made this look seriously vintage, but her wet-look hair makes it modern and fresh.
Dakota Johnson looked effortlessly chic with heavily lined eyes and a rosy pink lip. What stole the show for us, though, wasn't her makeup, but her flawlessly dewy skin. Just look at that glow.
Italian super blogger Chiara Ferragni looked stunning with bold, kohl-rimmed eyes. (Are you starting to catch on to the bold liner trend yet? It seems like everyone was wearing it throughout Milan Fashion Week.) Try an easily blendable pencil, like Yves Saint Laurent Couture Kajal 3-in-1 Khol Eyeliner ($35), to get similar smoky definition.
Zoe Saldana went for effortless beauty at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards. She wore her shiny hair in loose waves and opted for a pink shimmery lid and lip. We'll be boosting our hair's natural shine with L'Oréal's Nutrigloss Shine Elixir ($6).
We had to choose between a few great looks, but we think this purple-liner and french braid hairstyle suited Olivia Palermo best. We love how unexpected this look was. (By the way, we'll be pairing purple liner with orange blush ASAP. RMS Beauty's Lip2Cheek in Curious, $36, perhaps?)
We already waxed poetic about Hailey Baldwin's amfAR Gala look, but it's so good that it's worth mentioning again. Inspired by Brigitte Bardot, Baldwin wore graphic liner and brushed-back, ultra-volumized hair.
Jourdan Dunn appeared at a Swarovski event, looking timeless with her shiny loose waves and super-highlighted features. We love using Glossier's Haloscope Highlighter ($22) for a not-too-shimmery glow.
Cool-girl Brit Suki Waterhouse makes a case for ochre eye shadow front row at the Salvatore Ferragamo show. Try one of the brown-red shades from ColourPop's new autumn-inspired collection.
