The royal wedding is fast approaching (May 19, if you need a refresh), and the associated fervor is increasing in tandem. The focus of the public's fascination is Meghan Markle, former actress and model and the soon-to-be newest member of the British monarchy. And while some are interested in getting her actual nose, others (aka us) just want to know each and every beauty product she'll be wearing on the big day.
Although we don't have any exact confirmations yet, we think we can make a few well-informed guesses based on her low-maintenance aesthetic, typical look trajectory, and interviews we've read in which Markle (and her makeup artists) have dished on a handful of her all-time favorite beauty products. Plus, there's always the queen's favorites to take into account. Keep scrolling for nine beauty products we predict Meghan Markle will be wearing down the aisle.
"I do really love the Talika Eye Patches!" Markle's go-to makeup artist, Lydia Sellers, told us. "I love them because they actually work. There are many under-eye patches out there that you may or may not see results from, but I honestly feel like these patches reduce puffiness instantly after ten minutes. They are really great to have in my kit for early morning calls to help combat that morning puffiness and to prep the under eye for concealer. As a result of the eye patches, the concealer tends to be more effective as well!"
According to Harper's Bazaar, only certain nail polish colors are allowed within the royal family. More specifically, only barely there colors like the queen's own favorite hue, Essie Nail Color in Ballet Slippers ($9). (Reportedly, she's been wearing the shade for over 30 years.) And Markle has apparently been spotted out and about in a very similar color, so we're taking bets it might just be her go-to pick for her wedding day. That or possibly the brand's other royally inclined pick in Allure ($9), which the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her own special day.
We recently learned Markle has worked with esthetician Nichola Joss for years in order to maintain and sculpt her face to perfection. (Yes, facial massage and exercise is apparently a thing.) One of her must-have products is the ultra-luxe facial oil from Lumity. We're predicting there will be a glow-inducing layer underneath her wedding makeup.
In an interview with Beauty Banter, Markle shared a few of her all-time favorite products. Apparently, this exact eyelash curler (it's also an industry favorite) is her key to looking "instantly awake"—a given for your wedding day.
"I have searched high and low and tried every kind of lip balm but this is the very best. Soft, kissable, buttery lips. I swear by it," said Markle in the same interview. We're guessing she'll use it to prep her pout for one special lipstick in particular…
FYI: Meghan Markle's perpetually nude-lacquered lips have kept the nude lip trend alive and kicking. In fact, many beauty brands think Markle is solely responsible for an uptick in their sales. This aptly named lippie from Charlotte Tilbury is said to be her favorite and looks very similar to the shade she wore in her engagement photos with Prince Harry.
"I don't wear foundation unless I'm filming, so this is what I put on every day after moisturizer to give my skin a dewy glow. It's not sparkly, it's true to its name… 'illuminating,'" she told Beauty Banter. We have a sneaking suspicion Markle will be wearing foundation on May 19 and have even stronger suspicions this beloved primer will be layered strategically underneath.
And on top of that? We predict Markle will opt for her go-to blush for "a perfect rosy flush." Just as long as the queen doesn't know the cheeky name, no?
"It blends, it's compact, and if you've worked a 17-hour day and have nothing else on, you will still look relatively alive. Relatively," Markle joked. And yes, this is the exact same staying power a royal bride-to-be needs in her makeup arsenal pre-aisle.
Coming in at an ultra-affordable $8, this is Markle's go-to drugstore pick for a hydrated (and affordable) body glow. No, we're not predicting the soon-to-be bride will be showing a lot of skin while walking down the aisle, but we still have a hunch she'll prep her skin with the formula beforehand.
