We imagine the checklist for becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel would consist of a few key things. Thick, tossable hair? Check. Perpetually sun-kissed skin? Check. Legs for days? Check. Somewhat resembling a beautiful angelic being? Check, check, check. Blond-haired, blue-eyed Martha Hunt checks all these boxes and then some, which is why it’s no surprise the brand gave her Angel wings in 2015, officially inducting her into the much-coveted club. We caught up with the stunning model on the eve of the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris and asked her to divulge just some of the secrets behind her perfect, well, everything. BYRDIE: You’re constantly on the go. What are your tips for flying comfortably?
MARTHA HUNT: Noise-canceling headphones, an eye mask, and a comfy long skirt.
BYRDIE: What’s your favorite trick for falling asleep faster?
BYRDIE: Any jet-lag tips?
MH: Just stay hydrated, and don’t nap in the middle of the day.
BYRDIE: What’s your pre–VS show diet?
MH: Eggs and whatever they have catered; typically fish or chicken with vegetables.
BYRDIE: What's the first thing you eat after the show?
BYRDIE: What are the three beauty products you never travel without?
BYRDIE: What about your hair must-haves
BYRDIE: How do you keep breakouts away before the show?
MH: We get oxygen facials before the show, and it immediately plumps and hydrates our skin. I also travel with facial sheet masks like the ones from Colbert MD.
BYRDIE: What’s your favorite way to relax and unwind after the VS show?
MH: We usually dance all night because our adrenaline is pumping! Other than that, I try to rest as much as possible after the show, but last year I had to go straight to work the next day.
BYRDIE: Tell us about your workout regimen a month before the show.
MH: I’ve been training at Dogpound. You can follow the hashtag #TrainLikeanAngel to find my workouts and all of the VS models’ workouts. This year, I have added weights into my workouts, and I feel stronger than ever. I don’t do much cardio anymore—mostly strength conditioning.
