Imagine you're aimlessly scrolling through your Instagram during your afternoon slump, or perhaps while you're stuck in traffic (tsk, tsk). You almost tune out, when all of a sudden bam. You stumble across something rare, something noteworthy, something that will change your makeup game… forever.
Chances are this has happened to most of us. After all, we follow makeup artists on Instagram not only for daily beauty inspiration but also because their accounts happen to be a gold mine of beauty information. Professionals like Sir John and Patrick Ta (who count Beyoncé and Gigi Hadid as clients, respectively) post the glamorous, awe-inducing looks they create, to be sure, but they also occasionally drop major bombshells in the captions for those photos: like the exact shade of lipstick they used or a game-changing trick for perfecting Karlie Kloss's cat eye. We've gathered six of these life-altering tips ahead, for your viewing pleasure. You're very welcome. Just please don't scroll through in the car.

Here's yet another example of one of my favorite holiday party lip looks, this time from an Allure shoot I did with #AmandaSeyfried. It's neither uber matte nor even the teeniest bit glossy. Because of this, you can tell it's comfortable to wear, which means you won't constantly have to reapply because you've been pressing and rolling your lips to make sure it's still there all night. ????????For a perfectly edged lip line like this, start by very lightly covering your (already exfoliated) lips in foundation or a sheer concealer. Using a lip brush, draw the shape you want to see along the edge of your lips- NOT outside of your lips (at least that's my personal preference). You can also use a very sharp lip liner in exactly the same color. Next, fill in the lips using lipstick directly from the tube and touch up any less pigmented spots using your lip brush. I often like to lighten up the center of the lips to add dimension, and I'll do that either by choosing another lipstick in a similar shade, but slightly lighter color, or simply by dabbing a teeny bit of foundation on top of the center of the lips and blending it in. ???????? Two of my favorite lipsticks from the world of green beauty that you might want to try to get this look are: @dalishcosmetics in 'L04', and @bitebeauty in 'Pomegranate'. Today's #beausonsetmusthaves @josiemaran argan oil and @bobbibrown foundation stick. Bobbi stick doubles as concealer and I use several shades at once to create dimension on the face quickly and easily. I use a small amount of argan oil on my brush to increase the emmolience of the foundation and to create dewiness. I use extra oil on tops of cheekbones for extra glow. I also like to mix it with body lotion for dry skin.

Thanks again @allure ! Love the article. Here's my tip from the article: Not using a clean brush to blend. "Use one brush to apply and a clean one to blend to really control the amount of product you're using. And the smaller the area (for instance, the nose), the more time you should spend blending. A clean brush assures that you don't get a dirty look to your makeup and that everything looks clean. When using a cream product to contour, use a damp sponge to blend out the edges really well." —Luis Casco. This is the only powder i use (i do carry a gel one picture coming). Its ZERO colour and from @rcma makeup. It sets everything without changing the colour of the foundation. In the UK you can get it from @lovemakeupshop or the US from @beautylish. Its the best setting powder ever and the shaker means i get put it directly onto the puff to set peoples makeup! I don’t carry different colours or shades as i know this will work on fair skin and the deepest.
