Lexy Lebsack is a freelance reporter, editor, and correspondent based in Los Angeles. She reports for digital and print media and on-camera across beauty, culture, travel, and all things Los Angeles. She co-created, co-produced, and hosted Refinery29 docuseries, SHADY, which examines the culture, commerce, and controversy behind the beauty and wellness industries and the people they impact around the world. As part of the series, she won a WEBBY award in 2020 for her investigation into child labor in rural India tied to American makeup companies.

Lebsack opened Refinery29’s first L.A. office in 2015 and spent five years leading the site’s West Coast editorial coverage before going freelance in 2020. Prior, she was the founding editor of Byrdie and on the original editorial team of Violet Grey. Her writing can be found in WWD, Allure, Beauty Independent, Harper's Bazaar, Rose Inc, and Los Angeles Magazine.


Lexy graduated with a BA in Journalism from California State University-Northridge.
