There are certain personal care products that are too often overlooked by the people who use them. We scan the ingredient lists of our skincare products and we invest in clean makeup products, yet we hardly give a second thought to such things as the toothpaste we reach for, the shaving accessories we purchase, or the menstrual products we use. It's pretty ironic, considering we use these personal care products just as often as our skincare, makeup, and hair counterparts, we just don't invest the same time, research, or attention.
There's a new personal care brand that's looking to change that. It's called Kinfield, and it was founded by a Minnesota native who's passionate about encouraging people to get outside and connect with the natural world. The brand mirrors that intention with the launch of three brand new products, which are at once both clean and cute. There's a mosquito repellent, an after-sun mist, and an all-over moisturizing balm—all of them are vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without any parabens, phthalates, or sulfates (so they're seriously clean).

The first product we want to highlight is called Golden Hour, and it's a DEET-free mosquito repellent. It's completely non-toxic. Instead of the traditional (and harmful) repelling ingredient, it uses a unique strain of Indonesian citronella that effectively keeps bugs at bay. Other ingredients include lemongrass, clove bud, and lauric acid. Lemongrass provides an uplifting scent, clove bud is rejuvenating, and lauric acid extends the repellent's efficacy.
Plus, it has a summery citrus-vanilla scent, which makes it actually enjoyable to use (you will spritz it over your skin happily and freely, not while holding your breath and scrunching your eyes shut to avoid noxious fumes like you would with other more traditional bug sprays).
We spend a lot of time in the sun on summer weekends, which is why we love a good after-sun mist (they cool and soothe any irritated or sunburnt skin that may have resulted from missing a spot with SPF). That's exactly what this one does. It's called the Sunday Spray, and it's formulated with a cooling and moisturizing blend of natural spearmint, aloe, eucalyptus, cucumber, and prickly pear. So, yeah, we'll be spraying it on our skin after every lazy beach day from here on out.
The third and final product is a universal moisturizer, called Waterbalm. You can use it from head to toe to moisturize your dry, parched skin on contact. And that's without any greasy residue, thanks to a wax-, oil-, and petroleum-free formula. What it is formulated with is green tea, sodium hyaluronate, aloe vera, and colloidal oatmeal, so it's hydrating and soothing all at once.
You can purchase each of these products separately or together in a bundle, called The Weekender Kit ($55). In the spirit of getting outside, check out how to stay fresh-faced while camping (or glamping).
