Kendall Jenner isn't a celebrity who's known for her hair transformations (unlike her sister Kylie, who seems to debut a new hair color every week—and sometimes twice in one week, like she did just a few days ago at Coachella). The biggest leap Kendall has ever taken with her raven-haired locks was probably chopping them off to a lob length a few years back. Since then, it's remained as is (i.e., staying dark and healthy and sitting right above her supermodel shoulders). But we're not mad: Even with the same haircut, she mixes it up runway after runway, red carpet after red carpet, and event after event.
Whether she's wearing her hair in a model-off-duty messy bun or a high and slick updo at Cannes, she gives us a good dose of hairstyle inspiration wherever she goes. How does that saying go, again? Oh yeah, simplicity is elegance. In her case, that's a saying that certainly rings true.
Let's start with her signature hairstyle. This one's voted most likely to be worn, no matter the time, season, or event. She keeps her short dark hair parted down the middle and slicked down behind each ear. It's her go-to, and it works. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?
This is her other signature hairstyle (can people have two of those?). Here, she takes inspiration from the previous style, modifying it only by wrapping the lengths of her hair in a bun at the nape of her neck. It's effortless and chic.
Here's where things get interesting. Remember when she showed up the 2017 Met Gala wrapped in a see-through fishnet gown and donning incredible wet-look hair? So do we. We like how there's still movement in her strands, so the final result reads more "I just came from a resort swimming pool" and less "I forgot to wash my hair."
Jenner does polished waves well, too. Here, her silky strands were wrapped around the barrel of a curling iron before she stepped in front of photographers. To replicate that shine, we'll gladly be adding a few pumps of Sachajuan Shine Serum ($33) to our lengths and ends.
This was the rare occasion that Kendall Jenner wore a regular ponytail and it was caught on camera. She attended an NBA game wearing her hair in this swooped-back voluminous style, pairing it with a classic red lip and casual $10,000 Swarovski crystal–covered Saint Laurent boots. Like we said, it was casual.
We don't care what people say. Even though this wasn't technically her style, we still think it was one of her best. She wore this modernized pixie cut while walking the 2018 runway at Tom Ford. Yes, she looks like her mother, Kris Jenner, but that's not a bad thing in the slightest.
We want to start a petition for Kendall Jenner to wear her hair in more half-up/half-down styles like this one she wore to the 10th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Leaving two pieces out at the front made it fresh, '90s-esque, and perfect for a springtime polo match.
When's the last time you remember seeing Jenner with curly hair? If you're thinking what we're thinking, then the answer is never. This was a rare hairstyle for her to wear, but we loved it anyway. We're thinking her hair was curled with a small barrel in order to get those small, springy curls—something like the Revlon 1/2" Curling Iron ($13).
Here's another runway look that we loved. This messy, beachy style came courtesy of Tod's, the Italian fashion label she walked for in 2017. There's something very "I just came from surfing in Malibu" about it.
This look might be our all-time favorite. She wore this middle-parted, high-shine topknot while posing on the Cannes red carpet. Enough said.
Rest assured Jenner can work a messy bun just as well as its polished red carpet counterpart. This photo makes us feel slightly better about showing up to Sunday brunch in the exact same hairstyle four weeks in a row.
Jenner wore these loose, brushed-back waves at the premiere of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which she attended to support her friend and leading lady Cara Delevingne. This style looks soft and timeless.
This one's similar to the style she wore above, but this time it's injected with an extra vintage vibe. Since her waves are voluminous at the bottom and tucked underneath at the nape of her neck, they're reminiscent of what you would see a '40s actress wear on the red carpet. It's very Old Hollywood, if you ask us.
Here, Jenner pairs her nude monochrome makeup with a super-textured and layered lob. To replicate this look, we're going to go ahead and say texture spray is needed in order to get the same level of separation and definition. We like using Verb Sea Texture Spray ($16).
These sleek, crimped waves are the last hairstyle we spotted on Jenner, which she wore just this past weekend at a Revolve Coachella event. The texture! The sleekness! The gloss! Let us count the reasons we love this look.
