Kendall Jenner is beauty goals. Period. Whether it’s her perfect red lip, a smoldering smoky eye, or her impossibly shiny strands, we’re always looking to copy her looks. Throughout our stalking—ahem, research—we’ve noticed a trend: Kendall Jenner loves to wear a center part (almost exclusively). And (not surprisingly) she does it well. In fact, we had no idea just how versatile a center part could be until Jenner showed us the way.
Scroll through for eight of her best center-parted looks and how to re-create them!
Tousled texture is the classic way to style center-parted hair, and no one does it better than Kendall Jenner. To get soft, touchable texture like this, try Garnier’s De-Constructed Texture Tease Dry Touch Finishing Spray ($4).
Loose side braid with generous pieces falling out? Check and check. Want shine like this? Try Show Beauty’s Premiere Finishing Spray ($20). Pair this look with oversize earrings and minimal makeup à la Jenner, and you’re set.
Jenner’s straight but not stick-straight style is perfect for showing off a piece of statement jewelry or a photo-ready makeup look. Just tuck your hair behind your ears and toss the lengths behind your shoulders. Keep some lift at the roots and fullness throughout to avoid the helmet effect.
You don’t usually think of sideswept hair with a center part, but Jenner proves it’s a do. Add a couple of slight bends to your hair with a curling iron, run some shine serum (like Pantene Pro-V’s Smooth Serum With Argan Oil, $48) through your strands, and gather everything to one side for a party-ready look.
Before you write off super-straight, center-parted hair as so 2005, take a look at how Jenner does it—flatironed with layers falling into the face. There’s just enough modern edge to thwart any flashbacks to your high school days.
Even Jenner’s perky ponytails are center-parted! This time the part doesn’t have to be perfectly straight—it should look a little mussed up, like the rest of your hair. Tease the crown, and use your fingers to add some messiness and pull out a few pieces around your face.
Or try the sleeker-than-sleek ponytail. Once you get the part just right, this look is a combination of Moroccanoil ($16) applied all over (including the roots), a boar-bristle brush to smooth the hair back, and hair spray topped with shine spray to secure flyaways and boost the shine factor. Don’t forget to run a flatiron over the ends and wrap the base of your ponytail before you head out sporting this Kendall Jenner–inspired ponytail.
Even when her updo barely has any part at all, it’s a center part. Next time you put your hair up, try including a baby part right in the center to add a little interest à la Jenner.
