Here at Byrdie HQ, we're a little over the no-makeup makeup trend. If you aren't planning to go truly makeup-free, you should just own it, right? Which is why we were so giddy to see the latest look from Kate Hudson: a fiery copper lip that's perfect for fall.
At the New Orleans premiere of Deepwater Horizon, Hudson stepped out in head-to-toe red, save for her shiny metallic lips. The look was actually inspired by a total stranger who Hudson saw in passing. Whoever this woman is, she was #lipstickgoals, and Kate Hudson took notice.
Celeb makeup artist Debra Ferullo used a multitude of products to achieve that lit-from-within lip.

We have good news and bad news. Bad news first: Ferullo used a mix of custom Kryolan colors that aren't available together in one palette. The good news is that the brand's LRS 111 5-color palette offers two colors that look delightfully similar to Hudson's copper shade. Try mixing the first and last shades to achieve that rosy metal hue.
After applying the base color, Ferullo pressed loose gold powder onto the lips. The glitter lends that enviable reflective finish. We love NYX Face and Body Glitter ($6) for an inexpensive sparkle. And that's it! Two easy steps to a statement-making pout.
The rest of Hudson's look remained simple. Ferullo used Physicians Formula Kit Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension ($16) and Shimmer Strips Eye-Enhancing Shadow and Liner ($10) to subtly enhance Hudson's eyes, while keeping the lips as the focal point.
