FYI: You Can Achieve Kaia Gerber's Undone Waves With Just 4 Products

New York Fashion Week may have drawn to a close last Friday, but we're still reminiscing, investigating, and bookmarking all of the dreamy beauty looks we witnessed backstage and on the runways. After all, fashion week is pretty much a beauty lover's dream scanario—all of our favorite models, designers, beauty brands, makeup and hair gurus gathered in one haute-filled city. That said, when we gained an exclusive sneak peek into celebrity hairstylist Laura Polko's model-studded hair lineup, we jumped at the chance to learn which products she always has on hand and how exactly she styled a few of our favorite hair moments. Currently, we're obsessing over Kaia Gerber's flawless veil of waves—a high-impact look which, according to Polko, is relatively low-impact when it comes to time, effort and product musts. If you have a dryer, curling iron, salt spray, and texturizer, you're golden. Keep scrolling for Polko's step-by-step styling how-to in addition to a few of her (and our!) product must-haves.

Macadamia Professional Texturizing Salt Spray $20

"Starting with wet hair, I used the T3 Cura Luxe Hair Dryer ($285) and rough-dried Kaia's strands with salt spray to give the hair texture, grit and hold," Polko tells us. Assistant editor Maya Allen personally swears by this oil-infused option from Macadamia Professional.

T3 Cura Luxe Hair Dryer $285

"Once it was 80% dry, I created a middle part and used my dryer and a round brush to direct the hair down and slightly away from the face," she explains. "I made sure to use my round brush (with extra support from my fingers) to create a lot of lift at the crown of the head."

Singlepass Curl 1.25
T3 Singlepass Curl 1.25" Professional Curling Iron $160

"Next, starting in the back, I sectioned the hair into fairly large sections and used my T3 Single Pass Curl 1.25" Professional Curling Iron ($160) to wave Kaia's hair. I clamped down at the roots and curled the section away from the face. When ready to release the curl, I twisted and pulled the curling iron down to create straighter, more relaxed ends," Polko says. "Once I made my way to the front of the head, I left out the two front pieces at the hairline. These are the most important pieces for the look! To style them perfectly, I took the same curling iron and lightly tapped the clamp down on the pieces of hair at the temple to create slight bends, which perfectly frame the face."

IGK Beach Club Texture Spray $29

To complete the look, Polko tells us she finished Kaia's head of waves with a hearty dose of texturizing spray. For the ultimate end result, I personally swear by this must-have formula from IGK. So good.
