You’re not the only one saving videos from TikTok for your next trip to Target. TikTok’s viral skincare, tips, hacks, and recommendations have taken over our beauty routines. The latest viral skincare product, Junoskin’s Clean 10 Cleansing Balm, which launched in late October, racked up 100k views on the app and a 50k person waiting list before launching. The makeup melting balm-to-oil cleanser has just ten ingredients and, like almost every skincare product that appears on our Discover page, we felt the need to try it out immediately.
JunoSkin Clean 10 Cleansing Balm
STAR RATING: 4.5/5
BEST FOR: All skin types
USES: Cleansing skin
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Vitamin E, Pearl Barley
BYRDIE CLEAN: Yes
ABOUT THE BRAND: JUNOSKIN is a clean skincare line from California-based beauty brand Juno & Co.
The Formula: Skin nourishing ingredients
A note about oil-based cleansing balms: all skin types can benefit from them, even those with acne-prone or oily skin (just make to double-cleanse and follow with a gel-based cleanser after). Oil cleansers gently break down makeup, dirt, and oils on the skin without stripping the skin and prep your skin for your water-based cleanser. In addition to gently cleansing, Junoskin’s balm is full of skin-nourishing ingredients like pearl barley for hydrating and brightening and vitamin E, an antioxidant that also has anti-aging properties.
The Texture: Silky and easy to use
Every night for a week I massaged a dime-sized amount of the balm onto my face, and let it melt into oil while I worked it into my skin. First impression: I loved the subtle orange scent and the silky texture. I usually massage the oil cleanser into my skin for a few minutes before rinsing to really dissolve and remove dirt and oils. My makeup is usually pretty light so it removed it easily but the most impressive part was how easily it removed my mascara without getting in my eyes or leaving me with raccoon eyes post-wash.
The Results: Brighter more moisturized skin
With a bit of water, you can break it down into a milky texture and rinse. I followed up with a water-based cleanser, but I actually didn't find it necessary—this cleanser leaves no residue. My skin had was looking a bit dull before I used this cleaner (too much exfoliating? Too little? I have combination skin so I'm always trying to find a balance between the two). But after the first use, I noticed my skin immediately felt softer and more hydrated. For a quick skin pick-me-up, I tried out the Facecalm CBD Soothing Mask ($17) and it quickly became my favorite skin-calming and hydrating combo. It's definitely become an essential part of my winter skincare routine.
