Julia has an MPH in maternal and child health and spent the first decade of her career working in the positive youth development field. Julia's writing, most often focused on mothers, children, families, and health, has appeared with NatGeo.com, TIME.com, Washingtonpost.com, and NYT.com, among other publications. In addition to writing for a range of popular outlets, Julia regularly consults with both nonprofit and for-profit organizations that are working to make the world a better place.
Julia is passionate about mothers, babies, families, natural infant feeding, and physiological birth. She has lived in North Carolina since 2013 where she works as a writer, supports new mothers as a La Leche League Leader, and enjoys spending time with her partner and three young children.
