As far as celebrities go, it's pretty safe to say that Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness is up there in our top five favourite celebs of all time. Actually, scrap that—he's top-tier number one. Not only does he radiate positivity, but he also knows a thing or two about how to create a fail-safe, maintainable beauty regimen. Into the Gloss recently delved into his beauty cupboard and learned which products he rates, from his favourite cleanser to his hero hair product. Keep reading to see which products get a "yaaaaas queen" from JVN himself.
JVN starts this skincare routine with Peter Thomas Roth's Anti Aging Cleansing Gel (£30) and his Exfoliband by Nurse Jamie (£18) to really give his skin a deep cleanse.
After he's cleansed, Van Ness moves onto exfoliating. He credits Kate Somerville's Gentle ExfoliKate as one of his favourites, claiming that it's "really gentle for psoriasis." He also suggests not going in hard and scrubbing when exfoliating, as it can "literally take your skin off"; use gentle light "touchies" like him and you'll be left with glowing skin.
What's a beauty routine without a luxurious eye cream? Van Ness loves Algenist's Complete Renewal Balm—in fact, he's a fan of all of the brand's stuff, so stock up.
Herbivore has been on our radar for a few years now, and luckily we can now stock up on Space NK. Van Ness loves the brand's rose face mist, and we don't blame him. Infused with coconut water and boosting hibiscus flower petals, this moisture-enhancing mist will tone and hydrate your skin.
We couldn't discuss Jonathan Van Ness's beauty routine and not mention his hero hair products, could we? He's a fan of Shu Uemura's Wonder Worker multitasking primer, which helps perfect the hair's surface and enhance the performance of styling products. Sold. ■
