Joan Smalls isn't your average supermodel. For years, we've seen her strut her stuff on countless runways, front major fashion and beauty campaigns, and grace the glossy pages of the world's largest fashion magazines. She's a big deal and, quite honestly, needs no introduction. What we love most about the supermodel and actress (she made her acting debut in Netflix's film Set It Up) is that she's more than just a pretty face. Recently, Smalls announced her latest venture: a Smart & Sexy swimwear and bra collection she designed herself for women of all shapes and sizes.
This incredibly chic line comes in sizes 32B through 40DDD at affordable prices, ranging from $10 to $24. What's even more exciting is you can purchase everything now online at SmartandSexy.com and Walmart.com, or buy in-store at selected Walmart stores. Byrdie caught up with the supermodel about her new line, but we couldn't let her go without asking about her skin—it seriously glows. Read on for all of the skincare secrets she swears by.
Her Cleanser Rule
"I always wash my face with a cleanser that has salicylic acid for breakouts," she says. Team Byrdie loves this Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser ($42).
Her Face-Mask Rule
"I do face masks every time before a shoot and every two weeks," Smalls admits. "I love this particular foil mask from Estée Lauder."
Her Rule for Staying Moisturized
"I do a mix of castor oil, coconut oil, lavender oil, and put it on a brush and apply it to my eyelashes and my hair edges for extra moisture," she says. "Since I'm constantly putting so much makeup on my face, I try to do this every day."
Her Holy-Grail Makeup Product and Go-To Highlighter
"My holy-grail beauty product is mascara," Smalls says. "Putting on tons of mascara curls your lashes and it always brightens your eyes and makes you look awake. I love this one from Estée Lauder because it's waterproof."
In the market for something less expensive? Try these makeup artist-approved drugstore formulas.
"I always use this Estée Lauder highlighter pen. It goes on wet but looks really glowy," says Smalls.
Her Biggest Beauty Don't
"One time during fashion week, they bleached my brows," Smalls retells. "It looked cool on the runway because of the lighting. I had to go to a red carpet shortly after. I saw the photo afterward, and it literally looked like I had no facial expressions—it was crazy!"
