Halloween manicures are usually playful, fun, and cheeky, but they’re usually not very elegant or appropriate for more formal events—until now, that is. We got our hands on two of the most sophisticated Halloween nail art ideas from none other than nail guru Jin Soon Choi. Scroll through to see the hauntingly simple step-by-steps!
Get your ghoul on this weekend with this black-and-white lineup.
Draw ghostly shapes with JinSoon’s Kookie White ($18) at the tips of your nail (feel free to use your imagination with the shapes!).
Let your Walking Dead imagination flow when creating this understated blood splatter-effect look (well, as understated as blood splatter can be).
Apply one coat of JinSoon’s Kookie White ($18) on each nail.
Take JinSoon’s Coquette ($18), or any blood-red shade, and wipe off all the liquid from the brush on the neck of the bottle. Brush the polish from the top to bottom of the nail in varying short strokes.
Jin Soon’s tip: Change up how long the strokes are for a more realistic effect and don't be afraid to blot it in a few places.
Go over the strokes you just made using JinSoon’s Audacity ($18), a darker maroon shade, in the same way, but in fewer places. The goal of this step is to create depth and make the “blood” look more realistic.
And there you have it! Do you have any creative Halloween nail designs that you’re trying this year?
