Jillian Dempsey's Lid Tint Creates a Subtle, Ethereal Glow

I appreciate the beauty of a full glam eyeshadow look—with cut-creases, glitter, strategic sweeps of liner, and all—as much as the next person, but the process of creating one is just so time-consuming. When it comes to my eye looks, I reach for products that require minimal effort to apply and blend—which is why I was so excited to try the Jillian Dempsey's Lid Tint.

Even better is its multi-tasking cream formula, which is suitable for lids, cheeks, and lips for a monochromatic, glowy look. Read on to learn more about my experience with the product.

About My Skin: Dry and sensitive

My complexion is dry year-round. My eye area in particular, with its delicate skin, can easily get irritated, but I noticed that the creamier the product, the less reactive my skin is. That said: I was eager to test this lid tint. I chose the "Shell" shade, a glimmering champagne color that I applied everyday for a week.

How to Apply: Tap and blend with your finger

I simply swept my finger over the cream and tapped it across my lids. When I wanted a more intense eye look, I layered the cream. (It builds well.) But note, I did notice that the more product I applied, the more likely the cream creased on my eyes throughout the day.

I also swept and blended the cream across my high points of my cheeks and dabbed it onto my lips. I loved the subtle, monochromatic look it created.

The Results: An ethereal (and hydrating) beauty look

The tint blended perfectly on my eyelids right away, and the color held on well throughout the day. As a highlighter, it lasted all day and made my skin seem naturally glowy and dewy. I nearly forget that I'm wearing it—it's so lightweight—and I love how it moisturizes the area I apply it to.

The Value: Pricey but worth it

Jillian Dempsey's Lid Tint retails for $28 and can look small—but allow me to explain why it is worth the money: It is a three-in-one product that's easy to travel with. It's minimal effort and perfect for the days you don't have time to create a full-glam eye look. In my opinion, Jillian Dempsey's Lid Tint outperforms the competition in this category.

Glossier Lidstar: This is a sheer eyeshadow ($18) with a silky, blendable texture that applies smoothly. Similar to Lid Tint, this product may be used on the cheeks, but it doesn't have as wide of a shade range.
