We Stalked the Vanities of Our Favourite Influencers Before Fashion Week

Updated 05/02/19

With Fashion Week Australia finally here, we're geared up for what is going to be one of the biggest events beauty-wise in 2018. Not only will we feast our eyes on all of the incredible hair and makeup looks as they glide down the runway, but we'll be asking a range of makeup artists, hairstylists, and It girls for all of their best tips when it comes to looking (and feeling) incredible on what is otherwise one of the busiest weeks of the year.

First up, we raided the vanities of three influencers who have done the fashion week circuit more than once, and as a result have curated the best products for the job—a beauty survival kit, if you will. Below, Ally May Carey, Chloe Hill, and Talisa Sutton walk us through their MBFWA beauty essentials, so might we suggest taking notes, because these might just be some of the best recs you'll ever read.

I swear by the Drunk Elephant Moisturiser ($88)—Sara Crampton actually got me on to this brand and I love it!

I am at that age now where I need to prevent under eye wrinkles! I love keeping my Kora Noni Radiant Eye Oil ($50) in the fridge and applying in the morning—especially during Fashion Week.

My Ole Henriksen mask ($48) is perfect to pop on after long days. It feels and smells so good! Also, it’s super hydrating.

Finally, I can't live without YSL Mon Paris ($98) to make me feel fresh between shows.

The one product I always, always have on me is Susanne Kaufmann’s lip balm ($18). It’ll keep my lips primed for all the champagne drinking. Just kidding! I also just got my hands on her Flight travel kit so I’ll be stashing the Hand Spray Purif-i sanitizing spray ($24) in my handbag too so I have clean hands to dig into my snacks between shows.

My genius friend (and hair stylist) Pete Lennon recently got me on to Davine’s curl range. I don’t usually like to touch my hair after it dries as it makes it unruly, but this Curl Revitaliser ($40) actually helps dial down the frizz in the afternoon.

I don’t wear much makeup, but when my fringe is short I like having super groomed brows. I love Benefit’s Brow Setter ($42) (and sometimes I use it to tame flyaways on my head too)!

I’ve long been a fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s Cheek to Chic Swish and Pop Blusher ($60), so if you see me looking fresh and rosy you’ll know it’s not the champagne!

I can't live without Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($44). This is my best friend during Fashion Week because it's perfect for covering up under eye circles and any spots. It blends perfectly into the skin, and feels hydrating, not cakey.

RMS Living Luminiser ($55) is how I fake eight hours sleep! It's a coconut-based forumla with a subtle sheen hydrates and creates a luminous glow.

I always curl my lashes, and when paired with the By Terry Mascara ($65), it amps up the length and volume. I love a fresh face with a well groomed brow and a slick of mascara. For brows, I swear by the Benefit Gimme Brow in Dark Brown ($40) to groom my brows into shape, add fullness and definition

Lastly, YSL Tatouage Couture ($57) is my go-to formula for a red lip that stays put during the week. My shades are Black Red Code and Red Tribe.
