Hyram Yarbro is set to make a splash this Giving Tuesday, thanks to his exciting new collaboration with sustainable beauty brand Kinship. Launching just in time for the charitable day of giving back, the self-proclaimed skincare junkie and TikTok skincare guru created a limited-edition set featuring Kinship products that will make you excited about doing your skincare routine again.
The Hyram x Kinship Sea the Good Set ($59), which will be Yarbro's first product collaboration with a skincare brand, was inspired by his passion for sustainable beauty and environmentally-friendly packaging.
"I was instantly drawn to Kinship because I loved the brand's philosophy of creating skin-barrier friendly, conscious skincare that's sustainably packaged using traceable Ocean Waste Plastic," Yarbro shares with Byrdie exclusively about his new collection, which will donate $5 from every kit sold to assist in the efforts of Lonely Whale, an organization bringing people closer to the ocean through education and awareness.
"Hyram cares deeply about helping people and the planet. Those two values are at the heart of Kinship," says Kinship co-founder & president, Alison Haljun. "Hyram's built a passionate community with his honest reviews, unfiltered reactions and skin positivity. We're excited to partner with Hyram and Lonely Whale on Giving Tuesday to bring awareness to the ocean's plastic problem and help educate on how we can all take small steps to create meaningful change."
As one of Kinship's first customers back in 2019, the bond between Yarbro and the brand seems refreshingly organic. "Kinship is taking a unique approach to environmental sustainability that I haven't seen done before!" he says. "I'm all about supporting indie brands that are looking to change the industry from the inside out. We share the goal of wanting to make a positive impact on people and the planet."
Curated to be a great gift set for anyone who's looking for a basic beauty routine, Yarbro admits he has a favorite product from the line. "My favorite Kinship product is the Self Reflect SPF 32 ($25). It uses non-nano based zinc oxide, which is a favorite ingredient of mine because it's great for the skin and accessible by so many skin tones. The ingredient list is packed with barrier repairing ingredients, making it unique from other sunscreens I've found on the market." It's also a winner of a Byrdie Eco Award, so really—what are you waiting for?
