We all know of cottagecore, which is responsible for nap dresses taking over our Instagram feeds, but make way for its glamorous sister aesthetic: Princesscore.
Princesscore, also known as royalcore or regencycore, is a subcategory of cottagecore that blends the whimsical nature of the original aesthetic while adding elements of fantasy, romance, and even history. Classic staples of princesscore include big puffy dresses, dramatic sleeves, corsets, intricate lace designs, a pastel color palette, and, of course, a tiara or two.
Princesscore rose to prominence due to the popularity of shows such as Bridgeton and The Crown, along with many people binging Disney movies to comfort themselves during the pandemic. The rise in princesscore also came when stay-at-home restrictions started to lift, with many of us ready to get all dressed up to go out again.
Whether you're looking for an excuse to dress up or you want to channel your favorite royal without looking too obvious, here are 15 different ways to wear princesscore without looking like a Halloween costume.
