Want the perfect, pillowy pout, but not quite sure how to achieve it? The most obvious solution would be to get lip injections. However, if you're looking for something less committal (as well as cheaper) the good news is you have a few other options you can try to help make your lips appear fuller. From lip gloss to lip liner, here are tips for achieving fuller-looking, luscious lips.
Add Lip Gloss
You don't have to get fillers in your lips to get the bee-stung look. Just swipe on a few coats of your favorite lip gloss to create fuller, plumper lips. If you don't have lip gloss, glossy lipsticks also work. Just make sure to avoid anything with a matte finish.
Line Outside the Natural Lip Line
While not a permanent solution, you can create the illusion that your lips are fuller with lip liner. Apply liner just outside your natural lip line, then dab a bit of gloss in the middle of your bottom lip and smack lips together. The result? Instantly fuller lips.
Try a Lip Plumper
Lipsticks that promise to plump your lips really do work, but the effect is temporary. Some formulas use a traditional lip-plumping ingredient, such as MaxiLip, which stimulates collagen and boosts hydration. Others use ingredients that help lips retain moisture, which gives lips the appearance of being fuller.
For longer-lasting full lips, try lip creams that contain peptides or other collagen boosters. The following lip plumpers are under $50. But beware, they tend to have minimal, temporary results at best.
For a more permanent pout, you might consult a dermatologist or plastic surgeon about fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane. Results can last up to six months, but be aware. The cost is high and there are risks involved. Be sure to educate yourself before making a decision, and if you want to move forward, choose an experienced, qualified injector.
