Backstage at Lela Rose's F/W 16 show, we witnessed a lot of chic French-girl beauty happening. Overall, the makeup was kept very simple and clean, save for a smudged green smoky eye using Bliss's Where There's Smoke Long Wear Eyeliner ($22) in Olive Me. Lead makeup artist Romy Soleimani for Beauty.com explained that the goal was to combine skincare with makeup for sheer, dewy coverage, which was done by applying a bit of Marula Pure Marula Facial Oil ($58) on the cheeks, right on top of the foundation. But while oily gals may shudder at the thought of sheer coverage and added oil, Soleimani shared a genius tip that we're committing to memory.
She explains that Bliss's new Un-Buffing balm is a game-changing way to cover shiny T-zone areas, since it mattifies shine without giving you the chalky, cakey effect powder can. What’s more, it also helps minimize pores and fine lines while remaining virtually undetectable. Just dip the brush into the balm, gently pat onto areas you normally get shine, and watch as cosmetic magic happens before your eyes.
