The one we’ve all probably run into at some point. Crooks’ best advice is to invest in a good eyebrow growth product and keep your hands off. Even if you think there’s a stray hair you simply must pluck, resist the temptation until your brows are back in fighting shape.
Crooks says Neosporin is the fix here. A bit of natural astringent like witch hazel, followed by an antiseptic lotion, will calm redness and inflammation in minutes. After that, avoid touching the area until the irritation has gone down.
The good news is brow tints usually start to fade by the two-week mark. Right when you get home, saturate a cotton pad with toner, and start scrubbing to lift some of the excess color. Then, just go with it. “Just embrace it because trying to reverse the process will run the risk of doing more damage,” Crooks says.
In an effort to get perfect arches, it’s easy to go overboard. If you’ve gone too far, Crooks says there’s no need to break out the makeup remover. Just clean off your spoolie brush on a paper towel, and brush through your brows to blend out the color. If you need to fix the edges, a clean finger will do the job.
Or maybe you're just not at home and you’ve forgotten to pack your eyebrow definer. “The backup is you can always try using a neutral taupe eye shadow,” Crooks says. Not an eye shadow wearer? Your contour powder may work. Just be sure to test a small section to ensure that the color isn’t too warm for your brows.
