We're no strangers to detox treatments—we've done everything from Bella Hadid's incredibly strict Dr. Passler cleanse to an ayurvedic diet overhaul to chugging cucumber and lemon water. All of these methods have a common goal: to cleanse our bodies of impurities and (hopefully) trim down a bit in the process.
When looking for detox inspiration, we often turn to celebrities. They're pros at getting tips from their nutritionists, wellness coaches, etc. (you know, the things we plebes don't always have easy access to), and hey, if it'll make our skin glow like Hollywood's finest, we're willing to go to great lengths.
From infrared saunas to 48-hour cleanses, we searched for the tried-and-true detoxing treatments of some of the most beautiful women in the biz. Scroll down to learn more!
To us, a juice cleanse is a major commitment. Not to mention we crave carbs like no other when all we're doing is drinking liquids. However, Salma Hayek obviously has a much higher tolerance and has been doing them for over 15 years. She's even created a one-, three-, or five-day line called Cooler Cleanse with partner Juice Generation that allows actual food too (clean eating, of course).
Aniston likes to heat things up when it comes to detoxing. She's a big fan of infrared saunas: "I love hitting [them] after a workout. It's great for detoxifying while rejuvenating my body."
The science behind infrared saunas is that unlike regular saunas, the infrared lights heat your body instead of the air, so your circulation increases, your metabolism boosts, and the water molecules in the body vibrate and break down to release toxins through perspiration. You'll burn calories and get a beautiful glow in the process. Sign us up!
Rather than typical fruit or lemon juice cleanses, Freida Pinto swears by vegetable juice cleanses. Her favorite ingredients include beetroot, carrot, and coriander to kick-start her metabolism.
Byrdie Editorial Director Faith Xue tried Gwyneth's favorite detoxing treatment, Panchakarma. While Goop did it for a full week, Faith tried it for a day, but its intensity level was enough to feel like she had been "inducted into the small and quiet group of ayurveda believers."
This treatment involves treatments like a four-hand massage, an organic meal, small herbal bags being bounced off your body, and cool coconut water continuously dripping down your third eye. For Gwyneth, it seems, detoxing is no joke.
