You may be dying to go get a facial, but maybe your spa isn’t offering any at this time due to the pandemic, or you have COVID-19 concerns around visiting a spa. Well, Halle Berry (aka the queen of ageless skin) has not one, but two options for a pro-level treatment without ever leaving home. The 54-year-old actress took to Instagram yesterday (Aug. 24) to share her ultimate skincare secret with her followers.
Fans (us included) tuned into her #SelfCareSunday routine along with her esthetician Olga Lorencin, creator of the iconic at-home pro facial. The celebrity-favorite esthetician was one of Halle’s best kept secrets for her flawless complexion, that you may have seen her rave about not too long ago on Instagram . Olga and Halle showed fans how to do a DIY facial with one of Olga’s at-home facial kits that run for $98. That may seem steep for an at-home treatment, but this isn’t like your “3 for $6” sheet masks you can find at your local beauty supply store.
Halle starts her facial prep with Olga Lorencin Skincare’s Purifying Cleanser ($42) or the Re-hydrating Cleanser ($42) on super dry skin days. Then, it’s masking time. Olga says, “The long term glow–it doesn't matter if you’re eighteen or seventy-five or eighty-five–will come from a really good, carefully selected exfoliator.” Halle’s choice of masks are Deep Detox ($98) and Agelss ($98). The three-ingredient facials in a box pull double duty as a super exfoliator.
Halle and Olga recommend adding honey to your mask mixture for extra hydration.
Although Halle says that she stands by the investment of Olga’s at home kits, she does offer up this more affordable (and edible) option ala Olga’s simple at-home recipe.
- 1 tsp Full-Fat Greek Yogurt (vegan option = coconut yogurt)
- 1 tsp Honey
- For Dry Skin - add a slice of avocado + a few drops of avocado oil
- For Acneic Skin - add a bit of powdered charcoal.
- Option - add a few drops of Chlorophyll to fight breakouts and reduce inflammation
- Mix ingredients together into a bowl
- Massage into clean skin (face AND neck)
- Leave on for 15-20 minute
Note: for best results, relax in the bath or in a steamy shower for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it off. This mask is rich in probiotics, which are very helpful with skin balancing and congestion. The honey is a natural humectant - it attracts water from the air to your skin.
